From the start, Alex thought Samara had the most beautiful eyes… though he admits he fell for her dog Angus almost instantly. Samara’s first thought? “He’s very handsome. And… I guess he’s funny too.” 😄

Since then, their love story has revolved around what they love most: trying new foods, teaming up on co-op video games, and of course, their absolute pride and joy — Angus the English Bulldog. Everything they do gets run through the “but what about Angus?” test. 🐾

They first met as bright-eyed 11-year-olds at school, went their separate ways, and then—by fate (and a cheesy 80s room in a nightclub)—their paths crossed again. One slightly tipsy dance later, the spark was undeniable.

Fast-forward through world travels 🌍, laughter, visa battles, parenthood, and endless West Ham matches ⚽—these two have built a life full of joy, resilience, and connection.

Ben finally proposed on a starlit New Year’s Eve at Tangalooma, fireworks bursting above as they stepped into the next chapter of their story. 💍

After 21 years, their love still feels fresh, fun, and beautifully grounded—a reminder that the best things in life are worth the wait. 💫
