WINTER WEDDINGS....WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE? Did you know that every single one of the photos used in this reel was taken during a ceremony that I did in either June, July or August? Winter in SE QLD is sublime & those poor beings living in the southern states are positively jealous of our warm days, crisp skies & perfect sunsets. So don't wait until Spring to get married, DO IT NOW. The beaches are quiet, accommodation is plentiful (& often cheaper) & your photos will be stunning. Hit me up & let's get up hitched before Spring has Sprung šŸ˜œ

MAKING WEDDINGS FUN SINCE 2016: Let's be real - getting married should be one of the happiest days of your life. It may be stressful in the lead up with planning but the wedding day is all about celebrating your love with the most important person in your life, so it needs to be exciting, joyful and a whole heap of fun. My celebrant philosophy is just that: I am literally bursting at the seams with good vibes when I rock up to your ceremony & I make sure it's infectious so you & your guests get caught up in the hype...and it doesn't matter if you have 200 guests or just 2! & Tim were recently married with & it was just them, their daughter, their dog & their good friend Natalie...and WOW, did we have fun! So don't think I dial down the good vibes if your guest numbers are small - I'm just hyped as I would be with the whole shebang! I can't help it, your wedding is my natural high! If you want a celebrant who is all about making your ceremony relaxed in a vibrant & fun kind of way, then I'm your gal. DM me - I still have key dates available for 2025

BAILEY & TAHLYA'S MAGICAL ELOPEMENT: & Bailey got married on 18.05.24 which was exactly 6 years to the day since they first met. reached out to me to do the job as her cousin Cameron tied the knot with in 2021 & he highly recommended our services. Just like her cousin, & Bailey live in Ipswich but wanted a beach wedding & the beauty of booking is that we organize everything (so you don't need to stress if you don't live locally). The afternoon was stunning, the couple were gorgeous & photos were incredible (swipe through & see for yourself). What a beautiful celebration of love, congratulations & Bailey, we loved making your beach wedding dreams come true.

FIND A CELEBRANT WHO SPARKS JOY: was really onto something when she wrote the book 'The Life-changing Magic of Tidying Up'. In a nutshell (if you haven't read it) she said when you are tidying up, you should only keep items in your home that spark joy....& if it doesn't, get rid of it! The same applies for planning your wedding: your venue should spark joy, each & every guest on your list should spark joy (cross off the negative Nancies right now) & make sure you carefully pick your wedding vendors to ensure they bring only the 'joy vibe' to your day. Joy is the one thing I know I can bring....& why? Well marrying a couple who are in love, surrounded by people who love them pretty much gives me the BIGGEST natural high, so my joy is sparked, ignited & exploding. I'd love to be a part of your day, so DM me & let's have a coffee to talk more about the joy-fest that will be your wedding day

08/05/2024

FINDING LOVE LATER IN LIFE: Marissa and James tied the knot on 20.04.24 the gorgeous . James & Marissa first crossed paths in 2017 when she was told a 'hot Greek guy' owned a cafe at her local shopping centre - so she fronted up to Cafe XS to buy a coffee but James was a little gun shy about talking to any attractive female at that time, so Marissa left with a delicious coffeeā€¦but not much else.
Fast forward to 2018 & Marissa was out on the town, enjoying a girls night. There had been lots of drinks & laughs & as the night was still youngish, the girls decided to kick-on . Coincidentally, James was that night too with his brother & cousin. Marissa noticed James at the bar and, recognising him as the owner of Cafe XS, said to her friends, ā€˜Watch thisā€™ & she boldly staggered up to James, tapped him on the shoulder and introduced herselfā€¦. and the rest is history! James proposed to Marissa last year when they went to Greece for James 'milestone' birthday & when she said 'yes', he scored himself a fiance for his 60th! When it came to wedding planning , all they knew was that they wanted it to be fun...& it seriously was one of the MOST fun ceremonies ever, what a hoot. James was a little bit confused about how his wedding with a civil celebrant would roll, as he had only ever been to weddings in the Greek Orthodox church so he wasn't sure how the ceremony could be fun. So I eventually said to him, 'Mate, your wedding day will be nothing like the Greek Orthodox church wedding- it's more like a party with a ceremony in it', LOL - and it really was. It always helps when there are pre-ceremony drinks being served as the guests arrive (I swear, those drinks make my jokes funnier, ha ha). Marissa & James didn't want to miss one minute of the fun, so organised with to have some first look shots pre-ceremony, so they could maximise their partying scroll through to see how beautifully she caught their fun personalities). I loved these two from the get-go because their banter was so funny, they made me laugh lots. Thank you for letting me marry you James and Marissa - you two rock!

SECRET ELOPEMENT: Penny & Ben have been together for 11 years & have 2 beautiful kids. Making their commitment official through marriage was really a formality, so they combined a family holiday to the Gold Coast (they live in South Australia) with their wedding day...& It was perfect. It was just them & team - in fact, & were their witnesses on the day because the kids were just a bit too young šŸ˜œ. Congratulations Penny & Ben & thank you for choosing us to make your Elopement dreams come true. If the thought of organising big wedding makes you feel anxious & overwhelmed, then don't do it! MY BOYFRIEND JIMMY CAT: My heart is broken.Ā  Today, we said goodbye to ourĀ beautifulĀ burmese cat, Jimmy.Ā  We were lucky enough to adopt Jimmy & his sister AkiraĀ  (from the same litter)Ā  in July 2008.Ā  These cats were a bonded pair and after initiallyĀ freaking out about their new surroundings, they became part of us.Ā  Countless hours of playing, patting, sleeping & just generally hanging out with us whenever they could due to their love of hanging around, sitting on our laps, sleeping on our bed and our constant companions as 'work from home' self-employees.Ā  We have aged gracefully together, but unfortunately, Jimmy started having an accelerated decline so we made the call to the most beautiful Dr Tom Currie from which allowed us to say goodbye in the comfort of our own home while he gently and peacefully left this world.Ā  I'm still shattered but will be toasting my boy tonight - we will forever miss you Jimmy, go well mate.

#1000 post: I saw that I was coming up to this milestone, so figured it might be time to make a little photo collage & tell you what I love. This pic really says it all because I am in my element when I am:
* On the beach - I will never ever get sick of having my feet on the sand & going for a swim in the ocean. I am always grateful that I live in a place where the beach is on my doorstep
* Sunrise - I am an earlybird and seeing the sun come up over the ocean is the simplest pleasure that I make sure I witness as often as possible
* Exercising - I have to keep moving. Even though my days of running are over (thanks to my sh*te knees & ankle), I will do some type of exercise every day be it walking, gym, pilates - keeping active to me is much more beneficial to my brain than it is for my fitness AND
* Getting amped as your celebrant - it's been just over 8 years since I did my first ceremony & honestly, there is no greater feeling than the hype of a crowd who have so much 'big love' for the couple who are about to get married. You can't help but get swept up in the electric vibe & then I'll make sure it goes up a few notches by the end of the ceremony so party mode is activated ....& 'the bigger the crowd, the more I get loud'. I bloody love this job!

SUNRISE ELOPEMENT PERFECTION: Kylie & Jamie have recently moved to the Gold Coast & decided to get married at the place they love the most & at the time they love the most...& that is the beach at sunrise. While these two have been together for 4 years & engaged for 2 of those, they decided while on holiday in Fiji earlier this year, that they wanted to get married on 04.04.24 (as 4 is their lucky number). So they came back from their holiday with 6 weeks to plan their elopement...so it's a good thing they found because we are the queens of making things happen fast. Even though the weather was a bit iffy, we actually made a call at 3.15am on the morning of the wedding (as Kylie was up then getting her hair & makeup done at that time anyway) to stick with the beach for the ceremony...& thank goodness we did. It only rained right at the end of their portrait shoot, but otherwise the morning was stunning - the clouds made for a moody backdrop but the colours as the sun peaked over the horizon were stunning. So if you can see yourself standing under a pink sky before the rest of the world is awake, to marry the love of your life, then get in touch! I promise you, it is absolutely the most stunning time of the day...and then you have all day to sip champagne & celebrate!

IT'S JUST THEM, ME & THE TREE: Jade & Bevan tied the knot on 20.08.20. It was your classic COVID wedding where their best-laid plans went down the drain...things like drastically cutting their guest numbers, not being able to travel to their original wedding venue due to it being in NSW & as Bevan was a FIFO worker at the time it was a stroke of luck that he could even get home for the ceremony. But we 'pivoted' (I still intensely dislike that word!) and they found another QLD venue that had the tree of their dreams...who needs an arbour when you have a beautiful backdrop like this? A gorgeous intimate ceremony that I will never forget & their first baby's arrival is just around the corner.

Their ceremony was filled with so many beautiful things

Laughs, love, tears & their dog Harvey carrying the rings

And without her there, it just wouldn't have been right

It was 12.01.17 when Nathan and Tahlia found themselves at a dinner for their mutual friends, Nicola and Alex. They did some small talk, but went their separate ways at the end of the night.Ā However, a month later, Tahlia saw Nathan on Facebook & sent him a friend request.Ā  They began to chat & after learning that Tahlia was suddenly single, Nathan took the chance to ask her if she wanted to catch up.Ā  Tahlia was keen & their first date was just hanging out together on Hastings Point beach shell-hunting.Ā They continued to see each other but things were going to come to an abrupt end as Nathan had a 2 year Canadian working visa & was due to head there in July 2017.Ā  So while they were both a bit sad about that, Tahlia promised to visit him in Canada after a year & they vowed to keep in touch.Ā  They ended up talking everyday at all weird hours of the day / night (thanks to time zone differences) but after 4 months, Nathan realized that he missed the lovely Tahlia way too much, so came back to Australia so they could pick up their relationship from where it left off. Fast forward 7 years, and you could say Nathan & Tahlia have kicked so many relationship milestones - they both have successful careers (check out Tahlia's IG page ), bought their own home & had two gorgeous kids. So I guess you could say their wedding on 07.03.24 was just a formality - & a stunning one at that. Gorgeous venue, gorgeous weather & what a gorgeous couple - congratulations Nathan & Tahlia, you really are a match made in heaven & such beautiful souls & parents. It was a pleasure to marry you.

SIX HUNDRED HITCHINGS: On 17.03.24, I clocked up my 600th marriage when I did the honours for & Cameron . When I did my first wedding ever on 29.03.16, I had no idea that my side-gig business would turn into a full-time job by 2018! During peak season, I can work for weeks on end without a day off but I would never get a real job ever again šŸ˜œ. I love the anticipation of my next wedding because it's such a rush . I mean, I show up & ride the adrenaline/love vibe high which takes hours to 'come down' from. I literally drive away with the biggest smile on my face from every single ceremony I do...What a job hey? I mean, I get paid to have fun, laugh, smile & basically be in my element as I deliver a big truckload of 'happy vibes' to each & every wedding I have the pleasure of doing. So if I have been your celebrant (or will be in the future), thank you for hunting me down & letting me marry you. And if you are getting married soon & still on the hunt for a fun, organised celebrant who will bring the laughs to your ceremony, then shoot me through a DM & let's chat!

I MUST BE A 'COOL' MUMS' FRIEND: & were married 01.03.24. I first met when he was in nappies! He is the son of one of my long-time friends who lives with her hubby Michael out on a farm on the Darling Downs. I watched grow up, go through school, I watched his first rugby game (we won't mention that though šŸ˜‚). I bought him lunch on his schoolies week & was very proud of him when he got into his Town Planning degree at QUT. He then scored a graduate program job at a town planning business on the Gold Coast. I then got to see a bit more than usual because he lived in the same city as me & when he met his now hubby on the GC, he brought him over to our place for some beers & to introduce us...in fact, I think we met before parents šŸ˜. My hubby & I were not able to have kids, so I loved getting to know my friends kids, because they were a part of life I missed out on. When proposed to I was so stoked but even moreso when they asked me to do the wedding with my team. What an honor for me, they are such a great couple & I couldn't be happier for them. Congratulations Bryan & Riley, I love you both ...& I was a cool friend of your mum's, wasn't I? Hahaha . All the best you beautiful boys!

HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEARTS:: & met in 2006 when they were students at (just like my lovely couple I married last year & Cory). At the year 10 parent teacher interview, Sam's ,parents were told to keep their daughter away from him because he was 'a bit of a ratbag'. Despite the warning (LOL), they stuck together & while they can't remember their first date, they do remember celebrating their 1-year anniversary at all-you-can-eat at Miami . Since then they have worked hard, had 2 kids, bought their own home & finally, after 18 years, tied the knot. They were scheduled to have a huge wedding in 2020, but COVID postponed their plans which they are actually so grateful for...simply because they realized the 'big deal' wedding wasn't really them. So they cut their wedding parties, guest lists & celebrated their love with just 38 of their closest family & friends watching on. I admire this couple so much: they are beautiful parents with a strong sense of family & have prioritized the important things in life at such a young age (I mean they've been together for more than half their lives). Sam & Dylan, you two are truly amazing & I thank you for inviting me to share your beautiful day with you.

KISS BLISS: It's pretty exciting when your ceremony is over & all that's left to do is kiss to seal the deal. My job is to amp the crowd while you are doing that because well... I'm your ultimate hype-girl & we are so pumped that you're hitched! On 27.02.24, the beautiful Frances & Sam got married at my all-time fave with just 8 guests watching on. When it came to the kiss, I got just as excited as I would if there were 80 guests...& we cheered loud & proud! Thanks for catching this . Frances & Sam were just beautiful & absolutely bursting with happiness. Such a beautiful afternoon.

STRESS. PANIC. FRUSTRATION....My personal FB account was hacked on 05.02.24 which resulted in my FB account being disabled. The problem with that was that .sue (my business IG account) was also disabled 24 hours later as these accounts were linked. I started to read online forums about how to recover these accounts & things weren't looking very promising. I'm just lucky I have a personal IG account that was Meta-Verified & with amazing phone support this week from Riza & Jasmine (& Brian via email - real humans, not chatbots), both accounts are back. It was honestly the most stressful thing that's happened to me for a long time which seems crazy given they are intangible things. It was actually nice to not have social media to waste time on for a while, even though I was acutely aware I was losing business by not having an active business profile. Due to my forced hiatus, I'm a bit behind with posting some of my recent weddings, so I'll sprinkle your feed with some lovely couples I've married during this time. So to my followers who are wondering why I've been unusually quiet lately, please know that I haven't skipped town or won the lotto....hackers got me good & I'm so happy to be back. Thank you Meta for your help, you honestly saved my (online) life.

I CAN MAKE ANYTHING FUN: Alex & Vu contacted me late last year to see if I could do a 'registry office' style ceremony for them. They were off to Vietnam to do the 'full-on, bells & whistles' wedding with their family & friends but as they now live in Australia, they wished for their marriage to be registered here before they left. So of course I could make that happen! Now my signature ceremony style is FUN...no matter if it's short & sweet OR the full palava! And what fun we had! Alex & Vu did a quick photo shoot on the beach prior to me showing up, but then we climbed & had a blast...oh & we managed to get them married as well, šŸ˜‚. Your wedding day should be relaxed & happy...yes there are some serious parts in every ceremony but there's plenty of opportunity to have a laugh too. Your smile makes me smile....and making sure we all have one on our faces, is my style ā˜ŗļø. Thank you for sharing these with me

HIGH SCHOOL (NOT QUITE) SWEETHEARTS: & met in 2012 when they were in Year 12 at Merrimac SHS. Erin was keen on Cory but he was a typical clueless boy at the time šŸ˜‚ & his mates & surfing were a bit more important than finding the girl of his dreamsā€¦but that didnā€™t stop her! She pulled out all the stops to get him to notice her & even asked him to their Year 12 formal! They went together to the formal purely as friends but ā€˜nahā€™, Cory wasnā€™t taking the bait, LOL. So with that, school finished & they went their separate ways. They kind of kept tabs on each other via FB but their casual friendship went to the next level when they found themselves on the same camping trip in 2014. They were at Rainbow Beach with mutual friends & the chemistry that Erin knew was always there was finally recognised by Cory - yay! They chatted non-stop & by the time they arrived back on the Gold Coast, they were an itemā€¦and have been together even since. They moved to Sydney for a while, went to Europe for the trip of a lifetime & bought their own home. Poor Cory was under the pump from Erin & his mum to 'put a ring on it' but he has it all under control. While on holiday to Fiji in 2022, he caught Erin completely off guard when he FINALLY asked her to be his wife - of course, she said yes and got a big, beautiful shiny ring on her finger (as well as the title of the most patient girlfriend in the world, ha ha). These two really were the MOST chilled out couple - they just wanted a beach elopement with immediate family & no styling or videography - it was just myself & . We were at my all-time fave & wow, talk about perfect - swipe through the gorgeous photos by . I will never forget beautiful Erin's stunning smile - you could NOT wipe that smile off her face, she was absolutely beaming. Thank you for choosing us Mr & Mrs Buckland - your relaxed & chilled vibe was just fabulous!

HUMAN SIGNING TABLE: My gorgeous bride & groom were pretty much the most chilled out couple I've had the pleasure to marry. They only invited their immediate family to the ceremony & wanted no bells & whistles, so it was me & just Rebecca Photography doing the honours at my fave on a beautiful afternoon, 11.11.23. As we didn't have a stylist or signing table, I recruited Cory's cute little half-brothers to hold the certificate folder while the signing took place. These three went from climbing trees & playing in the sand to suddenly being very serious when I told them how important it was to hold the certificate as still as they could... aren't they just gorgeous? Love this shot & as for my newlyweds, well they are just so lovely (more on their wedding day very soon!)

KEEPING YOUR COOL AT A SUMMER WEDDING: Michelle & Simon went to Marsden SHS together but really ignored each other's existence (LOL) until Simon sent Michelle a FB friend request many years later. This led to multiple DM's, phone calls for hours, interstate visits until Michelle bit the bullet & moved to QLD to be with Simon....& then came the wedding day on 23.12.23 at 6.45 am. I did my first hand fasting ceremony EVER that day! When the ceremony ended, finished her photoshoot with the couple while the rest of us ate a delicious breakfast! Before the couple & their wedding guests left to board a party pontoon for the reception, chaos erupted when a water fight broke out & there were many drenched revellers (including the B& G), ready for a big day on the Broadwater. Such good fun! We loved Michelle & Simon's quirkiness & how they made sure their wedding day was exactly the way they wanted it to be. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Davis, thank you for the laughs & good times
