With Mr Covid busily rearranging our lives in the last couple of years, weddings have adjusted. They have been smaller, more intimate celebrations, set in a garden prepared by the couple, a family home or a place where love first set on course, often a corner of the world from where memories began. Whatever the case, they are personal, intense in spirit, a time set aside solely for the purpose of a marriage. Time to 'see' each other, relax and enjoy every moment. Time which is without expectations attached to the need for organising many guests and service providers. My most recent ceremony, allowed every household resident to join in. A beautiful afternoon spent with beautiful people and with the added bonus for me, of making some new four legged friends. A special thank you to Deb & Andrew - you embraced the occasion, the true sentiment of marriage - love, love, loved it all !

Welcome everyone to a new year - may it be one full of happy times and one during which you create countless wonderful memories. Make the most of what you have, keep those you love close by and take the time to tell those you love, that you love them.

Just to 'wake up' a very quiet year, I thought I'd send out a confirmation to all those who are asking if I am continuing as a Celebrant post Covid. It's a 'yes', and I am very much looking forward to hearing from all those lovely Brides and Grooms, Babies and Love Bugs who have postponed their plans for the moment, but would like me to keep them on my books for when we are all set free. In the mean time though, I'm more than happy to cater for a small wedding - we are permitted to have no more than 11 in attendance right now in our Goulburn area - for those who don't wish to wait for restrictions to ease. That's 2 getting married, 2 witnesses, 5 guests, 1 recording the wedding and your celebrant.

Stay safe and remember, an occasion is special because it's 'yours'.

Beautiful Army friends who just wanted to hang out at our place for a while, spent ANZAC weekend with us - it was a marathon of laughter, tall stories, mateship and food. Caravans and campers, as many as were able to be here, helped make this ANZAC day personal and heartfelt. Spending your life gathering friends, the reward is friends for life.

At the very first wedding I conducted, a lovely matron of honour stood for her best friend. That same lady has now asked me to officiate at her own wedding - such an honour - knowing too, that she witnessed my maiden voyage into the Celebrant world and still chose me for her special day.

It is a perfect beginning to a year, we hope, is more comfortable than the last .. and to everyone who plans to be married, or is preparing to welcome a bub to the world, those of you who are thinking of a vow renewal or just want to announce commitment to someone you love, if you have questions or need advice, contact me and I'll happily provide guidance through to the best outcome for you.

Dale married in 1976 and together with her husband John, has raised three children - Linton, Rachel and Bradley. Her working life includes positions within Departments of Education, Defence, Regional Australia and Infrastructure. Living on a property near Braidwood for the past fifteen years, Dale has been able to nourish her passion for music, art, writing, photography, gardening and country life.

Added to this Dale is also a Director on the Board of the Braidwood/Bungendore Community Bank, attending to both the Governance and the Community Funding Committees. She also has a strong interest in the Classic Riders Club Goulburn as Club Secretary, Annual Ride Director, Swap Meet Coordinator and Club Magazine Editor.

Studying to become a Celebrant and working towards the creation of her private Celebrant Practice fits very comfortably with Dale's lifestyle and embodies her personal beliefs in family and commitment.

.... the joy of meeting beautiful couples and families, who in many instances have become friends, has given Dale much for which to be thankful. Dale is also grateful to her many long time friends who have requested that she officiate at their special family services, whether they be celebrations or thoughtful reflections. Each ceremony is delivered with love, respect and dignity in equal measure.
