7 years ago on a stinking hot January day, our very own pocket-rocket, Jessie, hitched these two incredible humans Kennie and Kashka in front of a buzzing crowd of loved ones and boy did they bring the party vibes! Since then, their lives look very different with their two beautiful boys, but their love is still as vibrant as ever. When Kennie secretly contacted Jessie to surprise Kashka with a vow renewal on their anniversary, she was all in.

He ended up telling Kashka about it so she could plan her look (he knows her well!) and they met in a park that means so much to them. They revisited their wedding day in all its glory with their two boys there to witness it.

Such a special moment they will all treasure forever. This image is now and swipe to see their wedding day in 2018.

Di Schmidtke represented GCC at the wedding industry celebration Wedchella. This is an annual celebration with a couple of hundred of the wedding industry's brightest and shiniest vendors getting together on a weeknight and letting off a whole lot of unicorn sparkly steam!

Connections are everything in this industry and Di was making them for every couple we serve!

✨My 15-year career as a veterinary nurse alongside my 9 years as a celebrant - I’m so lucky to have two professions that I love and fulfil me so deeply.

✨Raising two gorgeous girls, Sienna and Ruby, whilst being a full-time working mumma.

✨Getting on a plane when I was 18 years old with no idea what I wanted to do with my life and moving to Ireland for a year on my own. Such a year of growth and self-discovery.

Our co-director Nicole Penning has returned from holidays, full of energy and excited for what 2025 holds!
Nic shares with us about what she is most proud of;

🩷My family and my friends and creating a family of my own. I really pride myself on great relationships with those I love. My parents, husband, children and my friends who I consider family. I may not be religious but my family and friends are my greatest supporters, my greatest source of strength and faith and my greatest cheerleaders.

🩷My career and education, from a degree at RMIT, hospitality, sales, recruitment, and finally my dream job as a celebrant and after completing my TAE, now as a celebrant teacher. I consider myself so lucky to find my calling and purpose in life that I love with all my being. It fills my soul and now I get to share that with others.

🩷Travelling around Europe dancing as a teenager and living overseas in Vanuatu for a year when I was 18 gave me confidence to find my true self and a love for travel and seeing the world. It may now consist of camping in a tent around parts of Australia with my family and friends but I’m grateful for the experiences in my younger years that helped form the adult I am now.

That’s why everyone loves you Nic!

Yes we can!
When Gen and Tom were married, Tom’s sister conducted the ceremony and Di Schmidtke covered all the legalities and it was perfect!

1. Her work in the not-for-profit and social enterprise, including working with people experiencing homelessness, addictions and poor mental health.
2. Creating her family after meeting her husband Paul as a teenager, with the 14th family member about to arrive!
3. Supporting people in their most poignant moments of their lives. Wedding days and final farewells!

🧡Guiding my two kids to be the kind, strong, beautiful souls that they are in this crazy world they are growing up in
🧡Creating a successful business that continues to grow and evolve as I grow and evolve
🧡Packing up our entire lives in 2024, selling our house, travelling around Australia for 5 months in a caravan with my beautiful family and starting a new adventure in our new home in the coming weeks.

CHRISTMAS CHEER

It’s very rare for us to all be together but when we do, it’s non stop laughter and chatter as you can imagine!

As is the way, our weekends are super busy so our team headed out on a Monday night to to celebrate our big year of weddings and more importantly to celebrate our friendship. We couldn’t do this job without the support of each other on a daily basis. Here’s to us continually lifting each other up and making us better celebrants for all our couples.
