Safe travels 🌴

Today us GCC gals gave our mermaid queen the send off she deserves. As most of you know she’s off on the adventure of a life time with her gorgeous fam around Australia for 5 months.

Today was a cocktail of excitement, sadness and pure jealousy - but we will miss her and look forward to Prosecco’s and tales of her travels when she gets home.

In case you didn’t know, it’s me on the socials this month! This shoot was so much fun by the legendary and family friend ! I was channeling 1980’s grandma and reckon I nailed it!
Anyway enough chit chat, I just wanted to tell you one of THE most important aspects of being a new celebrant/ sole trader is to surround yourself with your own team of cheerleaders. This is what has been for me. A group of busy, driven, stellar humans who always have my back.
Ensure you gather your squad around you and give them big shiny pom poms that they deserve. ❤️ .events

Let me take you all back to September of 2012 when our got engaged! Kent proposed to Jessie in Las Vegas on their hotel balcony overlooking the Fountains of Bellagio as the water and light display was taking place. Jessie said something like how beautiful it was and Kent said he knew something more beautiful (aawwwwww) and Jessie turned around to find Kent down on one knee with a ring. So romantic!!!!! They looked up later what the name of the Italian song was playing with the fountain display when he proposed and they think it’s hilarious that the song is called “A time to say goodbye”! Goodbye to bachelor/bachelorette life and helloooo wedded bliss. Love you guys. 😍

Happy Valentines Day from the GCC OG's. We've been celebrating love together for 5 years as a group of supportive, encouraging, cheerleading, champagne drinking women who also happen to be Celebrants in competition with one another 😅 But we love what we do and GCC has brought us together in business but it has joined our hearts forever.
Today, love your lover, your gal pal, your fur baby, your no.1 in life, who ever that may be. Love is love people. Especially on Valentines Day. ❤️

Some couples hold a special place in our hearts and occasionally they break 💔

Nikki and Norm sealed their love at the beautiful You Yangs surrounded by their children, family and friends and our beloved was lucky enough to be a part of the celebration.

44 days later, Norm was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We support Nikki + Norm in this challenge and you can too through the fund-raiser in the comment below.

Today was so much fun. We loved meeting all the loved up couples and their support crews who poured through the doors at this year's expo.

We also love networking and catching up with all the other vendors who we work with but often don't get the chance to chat with. We love our local industry 💜

So this happened last night! We attended the launch of their stunning 2024 mag at , and what a great night it was.

Thanks to Dani and the whole crew for another amazing night. The local wedding industry love an excuse to party together and Sunday we'll gather again at the expo, this time to showcase our talents and talk all-things weddings. Hope to catch ya there!

Summer Lovin #4

It’s time for to impart her wisdom on us. Here’s her take on summer!

Q. What is your favourite thing about a summer wedding?

A. Colourful floral backdrops, bright outfits and hanging around for a refreshing sparkling wine (even better when served by ) after the ceremony!

Q. What is your best tip when planning an outdoor ceremony in summer?

A. Plan for any type of weather (hot, cold, windy, stormy etc) as it’s the one thing that is completely out of your control. I chose Kate and Lachie’s gorgeous photos from their wedding where it poured with rain and they embraced it to have the most glorious wedding day.

Q. When you’re not at a wedding, where will we catch you this summer?

A. Taking off in our caravan with friends!

SUMMER LOVIN #3

Our leading light has experienced many a hot summer wedding day, and sometimes she learns a thing or two along the way, like remembering to apply sunscreen for every outdoor ceremony! We asked Nic some sizzling summer questions and here is what she has shared with us:

Q. What is your favourite thing about a summer wedding?

A. Eating and drinking and dancing outdoors

Q. What is your best tip when planning an outdoor ceremony in summer?

A. Consider your guests when planning an outdoor wedding in summer. Think about who is on your guest list whether it be newborns to Grandparents and if they should be sitting or standing in direct sun to watch your ceremony.

Q. When you’re not at a wedding, where will we catch you this summer?

A. I’ll be cruising and camping!

Our darling will always have a story or two to tell about her wonderful adventures as a celebrant! Here are her summer lovin answers for you!

Q. Anita what is your favourite thing about a summer wedding?

A. I love the fun and carefree vibe of a summer wedding. Everyone sitting/standing outside post ceremony enjoying drinks soaking in the warmth ready to celebrate the happy couple.

Q. What is your best tip when planning an outdoor ceremony in summer?

A. When planning an outdoor ceremony in summer make sure there is shade for your guests and yourselves. Nothing worse than everyone overheating before it even begins and the bridal parities expensive makeup sweating off. Also think about what guys are wearing in summer, the groom and his men, hot suits are not comfortable.

Q. When you’re not at a wedding, where will we catch you this summer?

A. I’ll be most likely in one of my new outdoor lounge chairs in the undercover outdoor area of my garden, vino in hand.

I’ve asked our GCC squad to give us the goss on what they love about summer weddings and first up is the delightful Sue Warner!

Q. Sue, what is your favourite thing about a summer wedding?

A. Anything is possible, not hampered by wet or cold weather.

Q What is your best tip when planning an outdoor ceremony in summer?

A. Keep hydrated and cool and remember your guests are sitting/standing waiting for quite a while so provide umbrellas, water, cool drinks, fans, sunscreen, whatever is needed depending on the weather.

Q. When you’re not at a wedding, where will we catch you this summer?

A. Pt Lonsdale beach with the fam.

CONGRATULATIONS on 600 weddings!! Every single couple is so lucky to have you marry them. We’ve dug up some photos from a couple of Nicole’s very first ceremonies when she started 16 years ago for a bit of nostalgia!

Since then, Nic has lead the charge in bringing our celebrant community together to support each other and she has done the most amazing job of it. Apparently it was a very solo gig for celebrants back in the day and thanks to Nicole, us newbies wouldn’t know what it is like to not have such an amazing community surrounding us.

Amongst the many weddings she does each year, Nicole is now sharing her knowledge with up and coming celebrants as a trainer at The Gordon and those students don’t know how lucky they are to have her!

We adore you Nicole and congratulations on such an amazing achievement. You are an inspiration to us all xx

Our divine founder @geelongcelebrantcollective, @nicolepenningcivilcelebrant was surprised by her husband Scott Penning on their 15th wedding anniversary with a surprise vow renewal! Our rockstar @celebrant_ajenkins was in on the surprise and conducted their ceremony full of love and laughter!
