The beautiful bay windows of Flash Jacks, Gundagai, NSW
Housing our two best rooms, the Bay Window rooms are our biggest. The far room spent its previous life as the light filled sitting room and the closest one was the chapel. Soaked with natural light, these opulent King sized rooms, with charming high ceilings, serve as the premiere rooms in the whole of Gundagai if not the region.

The Woolshed at Kimo Estate
Built in 1908 the Kimo woolshed originally consisted of 20 stands. Over several weeks they would shear up to 30,000 sheep in this shed each year. It was a very modern shed with a centralised shaft supplying each stand with power to run the hand pieces. The shed is still used today, now seeing 7000 to 14,000 ewes and lambs shorn here annually on the now 6 stands.

The Waterfall, Kimo Estate
Up the back right corner of Kimo Estate is a beautiful valley with a very deep creek called the Back Station Creek. It is a reliable waterway that in a storm created a long horizontal waterfall where the creek meets a big rock layer. I’ve only seen it a few times in my life but I certainly hope to see it again one day. The country out here isn’t frequented as much and it’s got a terrific feeling to it, well with a visit in your stay.

Fergo’s Hut sits overlooking the Kimo Lagoon, almost hanging on the edge of the steep drop off of the Wonga Hill. The lagoon below is home to water birds: pelicans, swans, ducks and a myriad of other bird life spend their days at this summer oasis as pods of prey soar on the thermals created.

“The Grain Shed” at Kimo Estate
Once home to the harvest, the grain shed is now a maker of memories, operating as our wedding and function venue. Lit by real candlelight, it comes alive at night time. We have a few Spring 2025 dates still available and are now taking bookings for 2026, shoot us a DM for more details.

The mini heatwave that’s been upon us the last couple of days has subsided. The cool change comes through on the breeze as the wing switches around from north to the south. The cool air is a welcome relief for everyone, animals included who have been sitting under a tree all day and eating feverishly in the early mornings and late evenings.

With a run of high 20’s and low 30’s the next ten days look lovely. Summer is certainly upon us.
