We love showing off our gorgeous garden - it’s a stunning garden wedding and events venue - while making sure we take the time to smell the many, many roses. Keeping a 2 acre garden in peak condition takes a lot of time and energy - good thing we absolutely love our gardening! One of the thing that makes it vastly easier for us, is the ground work done by the original owners, who invested it in a whole bunch of flowering perennials. These stunners die off every winter, and are cut down, and re-emerge in the summer, full of colour and exuberance, and thrilling the bees. Here are a few of my favourites:
1. Salvia uliginosa, which grows well over 1m tall and will happily take over a garden bed if you let it
2. Buddlija davidii - cut it down every year or three, or prune, to keep it size down or leave it to grow into a spreading tree. An absolute favourite with all the pollinators, particularly the butterflies
3. Agapanthus - are wiped out by our harsh frosts, but never fail to come up again, and give the most glorious show in shades of purple, violet and white
4. Campanula punctata - one of the most delicate and elegant flowers, that is thriving in a tough garden bed that gets scorched by the hot afternoon sun.

Kanushka 🩷 Diana 10.12.22 - it is pretty amazing to think the first wedding at Vogelweide Estate was our own! We said 'I do' in front of those we love under stunning skies and the most astounding rose arbor, which timed its display perfectly. Best of all, we didn't even need to leave the estate to take our wedding portraits.
