Sharing some beautiful work with the new Tecoma Mural!

🤗 Did you know that the stunning new mural at Tecoma Primary School is a collaborative effort between talented students and artist Travis Cochrane?

🎨 Under the guidance of Art Teacher Jane McManamon, students were inspired to capture the beauty of our local environment through paper and fabric collages. From vibrant flora to majestic birds, each piece tells a unique story.

✏ Local graphic designer and school parent Travis Cochrane then skilfully combined these artworks into the final mural design that you can see on school grounds.

💚 We're incredibly proud of the students' creativity and the community spirit that brought this project to life!

👏 A big thank you to local business Yarra Valley Signs for printing and installing the mural.

Don't forget to vote for May Moon, Edna Walling and Kath Deery - Celebrating Visionary Women at Karwarra Gardens!

This important story is shortlisted to be one of six public art projects to be selected for funding as part of the Victorian Women's Public Art Program.

Let's honour these women's contribution to our region and Victoria.

🚨 Vote for May Moon, Edna Walling and Kath Deery - Celebrating Visionary Women at Karwarra Gardens! 🚨

We’re thrilled to announce that our project, Sustain, has been shortlisted for public funding through Engage Victoria!

This powerful new artwork will honour three incredible local women—May Moon, Edna Walling, and Kath Deery—whose vision, courage, and artistry shaped the Karwarra Australian Native Botanic Garden in Kalorama.

Sustain will celebrate the impact of these three women who championed sustainability long before it became a movement.

The project bid has now gone live for public voting. We need everyone’s help to ensure funding is secured to deliver this uniquely Yarra Ranges project.

On Remembrance Day, we honour the brave servicemen and women who have given their lives in service to Australia 🌺

"Parquetry of Honour," a 2018 installation by Ali Griffin, located at Healesville's iconic Soldiers' Memorial Hall, now known as "The Memo." This powerful artwork pays tribute to local soldiers, both fallen and returned, using reclaimed wooden tiles from the very hall they once gathered in.

Some tiles, engraved with soldiers’ names, sway gently, creating a subtle, respectful movement and sound. Each tile’s orientation tells a story: horizontal tiles honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice, while vertical tiles remember those who returned.

A neon sign accompanies the display, echoing a speech from the 1923 memorial foundation ceremony: “In the freshness of the morning shall they be in our thoughts; at the fullness of noonday they shall be remembered; and in the peace of eventide they shall not be forgotten.”

Visit "Parquetry of Honour" at The Memo in Healesville to reflect, remember, and honour our past. Free entry; check The Memo’s hours for visiting times.

What a magical night! 🐰✨ Thanks to everyone who joined us earlier this month for Born in a Taxi's Velveteen Rabbit at The Memo Healesville!

Families were invited to bring their own special toys as VIP guests, and one lucky family even brought along a lovingly restored 30-year-old Velveteen Rabbit!

The show was a delightful blend of physical comedy, audience interaction, and stunning visuals. Far from a traditional theatre experience, Velveteen Rabbit turned expectations on their head, taking audiences on a whirlwind journey of excitement, laughter, tenderness, and chaos.

At its core, the performance explored themes of love, belonging, and self-discovery. It’s a story about a toy that becomes fully themselves through the love of another, a powerful message for children and adults alike.
