I’m excited to announce our international guest from Vienna, Regina Anzenberger. She will give a workshop on ‘Making your Photobook’ on the 9th March, 10am - 1pm at TopSpace Studio. She’ll talk about everything you need to know if you’re thinking of making your photobook: editing, sequencing, making a dummy, layout, binding, paper choice, self publishing or how to find publishers. This workshop will get you started if you are thinking about making your photo book. Limited number only!

One of my 16mm films 'Queenstown Ghosts', has been selected to be screened at ACMI on the 20th February. Can't wait! Come along and join us for a great experimental film night.

Join members of Melbourne’s Artist Film Workshop as they introduce and screen a selection of 16mm films that celebrate the pleasures of working with celluloid.

This is a hands-on workshop that will give you the opportunity to learn about and try out the various kinds of analogue cameras that are readily available. From retro cameras to contemporary film cameras (e.g. pinhole, Lomography and Polaroid), in 35mm, medium, and large format. You will learn about their creative possibilities and what they can and cannot do.

We will spend the morning with an introduction to analogue cameras and film. We will touch on exposure, aperture, light meters and what types of cameras to use where and when. In the afternoon you'll be working with the camera of your choice in the studio or on location (depending on your interests). This workshop is not about creating postcard images but about experimentation and open new ways of seeing, but most of all, to play and have fun.

This workshop is a fun day of experimentation and discovery.

Another inspiring Philosophy Salon on Literature, Film and Philosophy Today. This salon is open enough to accommodate impromptu readings and presentations of one’s own creative work:
What is the role and relevance of literature, poetry, film, and philosophy today? How do word and image relate to each other? How are imagination, emotion, memory, beauty, and truth manifest in today’s world? We will be addressing these issues by reading short texts by, among others, Milan Kundera, Richard Flanagan, Virginia Woolf, Andrey Tarkovsky, Martin Heidegger, Hans-Georg Gadamer, Christa Wolf, Paul Celan, Ingeborg Bachmann. In addition, we will also show and discuss clips of movies, especially by Andrey Tarkovsky
