Ladies, we are currently hosting a bridal trunk show for designer Morilee, Ronald Joyce and Victoria Jane in our boutique!

These gowns are from theses designers latest collections, and I must say, we think it is their best yet! So much so that we all had to have a bit of a dress up (see pics haha).

Meet the other new Strutt gal, Olive!

This sweet little blossom is the daughter of Samantha, one half of the dynamic sister duo that are Strutt's new owners.

Olive is such a lucky gal to have her Mummy AND her Auntie owning a bridal shop!
Not to mention the fact that she now has TWO Chloe's to hang out with and try on veils and play with.
(Totally a comp between the Clo Clo's to win the top spot, shop girl Chloe is definitely in front after giving Olive the hand-me-down Barbie house 😅😂 just kidding!)

💍 SHE SAID YES! 💍

We have the only job where you know you have hit the jackpot when your customers cry, and there wasn't a dry eye in the boutique (even from the staff!).

The gorgeous Sheraleigh said yes to her dress with us recently, however that wasn't the only special moment that was shared that day.

Unbeknownst to out bride to be, during her appointment, her Mum snuck out to our girls at the counter and PAID FOR THE DRESS!

A complete suprise for Sheraleigh, and such a special moment for us to have shared with this lovely family.

Not being one to usually wear dresses I was completely out of my comfort zone trying on wedding dresses. I had no inspiration pictures and left it up to Rhonda to help me decide what would suit my body shape. She is incredible at what she does and I bought the second dress I tried on! I had a very short time frame until my wedding and Rhonda went above and beyond to expertly alter my dress to meet this deadline. And my dress ended up fitting absolutely perfectly.

Tonight, is the virtual awards ceremony for the Tasmania bride's choice awards!
So, what better time than now to share with you all one of our latest stunning brides, Tahlia.

Tahlia chose and purchased her stunning Wilderly dress by Allure from us.
Doing what we do best, we worked with Tahlia to heavily customise her gown, so it was just right for her. Which included adding in a more solid back using extra linings and lace appliques which blended seamlessly into the gown.

We think she looks stunning and wish her and her new Husband a lifetime of love and happiness.

🥰 H E L E N 🥰

A lot of you may not know this very talented little lass here, (we usually have her locked up out the back, chained to the sewing machine and slide her notes under the door... just kidding 😅). This is our Helen.
Master of the sewing machine.
There is NOTHING this Woman can't sew!

Anyway, our Helen is mostly a quiet and mild tempered gal, so we were all very shocked to receive a message in our group chat this morning with some very crude emojis from her!
Until we then walked in and saw her stationed at her post, sewing a skirt of tulle that took up the whole sewing table 😂.

She is an absolute gem this one.
Ps. Lucky you have a modest top on today old girl!

Not only is she absolutely stunning, our bride Sonya is also one very talented lady.
To add her own personal touch (literally) on to her wedding gown, Sonya completed some of the alterations herself, in conjunction with Rhonda.

She wed her Beau at the Coal Valley Vineyard in Jan this year.

Her hair was styled by Meg from Audreys hair.
It also turns out that Sonya is a bit a wizz with a makeup brush, as she also did her own makeup for the big day.

At Strutt design studio we pride ourselves on not only delivering the best alterations services in Tasmania, but we also strive to do everything in our ability to help brides and bridesmaids that are in a jam, like needing last minute alterations, or having spur of the moment weddings and needing to pick a dress and have altered in a week (yes this actually happened).
We also take the emotional needs of our brides and their entourage very seriously.
We laugh and joke around 90% of our day, and take on any stress we can alleviate from our brides, which means our behind the scenes is filled with not just doing our paid work, but also providing emotional support for our clients.

✨ H A N D S E W I N G ✨ Every little piece of lace that has to be moved on your gown is delicately unpicked, and then precisely pinned and hand stitched in place, as you can see Rhonda doing here in this video. This is just one example of how we pay attention to every little detail when altering your dress. ✨For brides planning their weddings that may be wondering what to budget for their bridal alterations, here at Strutt design studio we time all of our work and charge by the hour. So as you would imagine a job like this where lace or beads need to be unpicked and then put back, takes longer than a crepe dress for example.
