For over a decade, Fiona has been specialising in small, intimate ceremonies, marrying couples throughout the Hunter and Jervis Bay areas. Fiona's Short & Sweet Ceremony is exactly that - short, you’ll be married before you know it & sweet, heartfelt & lovely. No two ceremonies are the same and I am happy to provide you with little ways that you can personalise your ceremony. Of course, you always

have the option to make your vows a little more romantic and meaningful too! If you just want the minimum legal wording, that’s perfectly fine as well. Most importantly, even though your ceremony is Short & Sweet, it is absolutely 100% a legal ceremony. I will clearly explain everything you need to do and all of the documents you will need to provide along the way to meet all of the requirements of marrying in Australia. You can get married in your home or back yard, in a park or on a beach, at a cafe or restaurant or at a venue. Please be aware that booking fees may be payable for some locations. With my years of experience, I am happy to help advise you on the perfect location if you are undecided or are not familiar with the local area. As these are an elopement style ceremony and similar in style to a Registry Office ceremony there is a MAXIMUM 10 - 15 GUESTS - including your 2 witnesses. I am fabulous at keeping secrets if you are planning to elope. A non-refundable deposit of $150 - is required when I accept your Notice of Intended Marriage. The deposit also secures your date and ceremony time in my diary. The deposit can be paid at our first meeting or via direct deposit within 7 days of our meeting. The balance is due two weeks prior to your ceremony date. As your Celebrant I offer you….

❤ Face to face meetings to complete the paperwork and get to know you.

❤ Phone/email support for all couples.

❤ Completion of all of the legal documentation and prompt online registration of your marriage.

❤ Online application of your official Marriage Certificate with New South Wales Births, Deaths & Marriage (Currently an additional $60 which is payable to NSW Births, Deaths & Marriages).

❤ Performing your ceremony in your home or at a location within the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland & Pokolbin Vineyard areas only*

*Conditions apply for any additional travel to other areas

❤ A beautifully presented keepsake copy of your ceremony.

The Bureau of Meterology have today declared that a La Niña is now underway in the Pacific Ocean.

This follows recent cooling in the central tropical Pacific and model outlooks indicating that cooler than average ocean temperatures will be sustained until at least the end of 2022.

The majority of models predict an easing of the La Niña in early 2023, suggesting a relatively short-lived event; ENSO events typically peak during the southern hemisphere summer and decay during the autumn.

La Niña conditions increase the chance of above average spring and summer rainfall in northern and eastern Australia. When a La Niña and a negative phase of the Indian Ocean Dipole coincide, it further increases the likelihood of above average rainfall over Australia, particularly in the eastern half of the continent.

Bureau climatologists will continue to closely monitor conditions in the tropical Pacific as well as model outlooks for further developments.

Family & friends gathered around 6 week old baby Lewis this morning to offically welcome him with a Naming Ceremony. When two godparents were unable to attend due to being interstate, technology came into play with both joining in remotely over Facetime. Aimee & Harley have such a beautiful little family. It's an honour to have been asked to name both of their sons ~ Lachlan, a few years ago & now little Lewis 💙 💙 Wishing both boys a life full of blessings.

Fiona Romanin - Marriage Celebrant

I really loved my wedding day BUT I honestly don’t remember what food we ate or what wine we drank or even what flowers were in my bouquet. What I do remember about the day was that first look and the smile on Michael’s face as we met outside the church prior to our ceremony starting.

After I completed my Celebrant studies in 2007, I was officially appointed as a Registered Marriage Celebrant by the Attorney General’s Department in April 2008. I have had the honour of officiating at the marriages of so many wonderful couples over the past decade. I absolutely love every aspect of being a Celebrant – meeting and working with couples and families to celebrate – share in their life events and love story is always very special.

Right from the beginning I have always offered couples the option to have a small, intimate ceremony and from this, my Short & Sweet Ceremonies page has evolved. These beautiful and intimate ceremonies are the most common ceremony I perform now - especially, as out local office of the NSW Births, Deaths & Marriages in Hamilton closed a few years ago. Local and interstate couples visiting the region have liked that they don’t have to travel to Sydney as they can have a registry-style ceremony right here at one of our beautiful locations.
