A good small step!

So long, yadda, farewell.
You were cute but we NEVER needed you.

The single-use plastic ban has brought about the extinction of the plastic soy fish in Hobart, which is perhaps one of the few extinctions in history that is great for the environment.
The extinction of the once popular, plentiful, and plain annoying, little soy sushi fish is actually helping to reduce harm to real fish and other marine sea life.
The ban has also meant the end of plastic straws, cutlery, cups and other single-use plastic condiment packaging, which means even more small plastic items are being prevented from entering the City’s waterways.

Look how much waste we’ve saved ✌️
Each year, the members count up how many single use items their kits have saved from landfill that year.
I only started my kit in November 2022, so I’m pretty pleased with having saved over 2,500 items from landfill!
Thank you to everyone who has hired the party kit so far! Can’t wait to see what the next year will bring 💖
