Pretty scenes of this Pale-headed Rosella sitting on the fence when I was recently out and about one morning. I love seeing these birds and only get the occasional one in my yard but I find they don't stay too long once I am spotted. I took this rosella from a distance but tried to approach slowly and little by little to get a few pics.

Hi all, Last night's critique was the subject of Macro Photography at my local club. My prints were 'Sweet Sip' a Golden-tailed Spiny Ant which received an honour and 'Nectar Joy' a Golden Hover Fly. My Digital Projected images were 'Wasp's Grip' a Paper Wasp and 'Leafy Leap' a Jumping Spider which both received honours. Macro is always a challenge but very satisfying when you get the image you set out to achieve.

A little visit yesterday at the Ipswich Nature Centre with my grandson, Theo. I managed to snap a few pics along the way. Theo loved the visit. He tells me to take the picture when he spots a bird or animal he likes! Such a well kept wildlife centre with a rainforest bird aviary and many other animals such as the red kangaroo, emu's, dingo's, wallabies, quolls, wombats and some farm yard animals too!

Sharing a few of my Wanaka Tree images tonight. I've shared a couple images on instagram of this morning as the fog rolled in and the scene changed as the morning progressed. There were many people around that morning taking pics of the tree and surrounds which is a very popular spot indeed.

Some Starling bird captures from Queenstown in New Zealand. These birds were very happy flitting around on the tops of tree shrubs near our balcony. Starlings feed on fruit and berries but their main diet is invertebrates. They spend a lot of their time looking for insects, worms and spiders. Their lifespan is generally around 15 years.

Saw this European Starling when in Queenstown. This is a Non breeding adult/immature bird. The Starling was sitting in the rain and in a perfect spot at my eye level as I was coming back down the steps to my accommodation. I took the opportunity to take a few images. It was a first for me to take a pic of this particular bird.

Hi all, a few pics of the Kea bird, the world's only alpine parrot is quite a clever, cheeky, mischievous bird. I loved seeing these birds whilst in New Zealand on a couple of occasions. They were having such fun jumping over each other and clowning around in the carpark at Arthur's Pass. They were fairly difficult to photography with their erratic moves in the air but I'm always up for the challenge. Enjoy seeing these birds very much and it was a highlight of my trip.

Enjoyed an outing with Ipswich Photographic Society yesterday. We met up at Mt. French for a walk and photoshoot around the area. Later that day I ventured to Wyaralong Dam. The first two pics are a quick stop on the way out there to capture the foggy morning.

Hi all, Last Tuesday night was our critique on 'Architecture'. I received an honour for 'Opera Grandeur' and acceptances for 'Devine Symmetry' taken at St. John's Cathedral. Other images were Urban Tapestry' and 'Modern Construction'. Apart from my Opera House image I ventured into Brisbane City with a friend to take these images and believe me I took many more images than this for this subject. :)

Paradise Shelduck from my New Zealand visit. Every time I saw these ducks they were always in a pair. The female has the white head and the male black. They are both nice looking ducks. Enjoyed seeing them throughout my travels.

Thought I'd share a few drone images tonight. This particular day we were travelling from Wanaka to Queenstown. These images were from outside Glenorchy and looking down on the Rees River Bridge on Paradise Road. New Zealand had a few dry months previous to my visit and I saw the water very low in many places however, the surrounding area had a beautiful scenic view of mountains in the distance.

Finally got a chance to look through some of my photo's from Lake Tekapo, New Zealand. I enjoyed this bridge and the beautiful clear aqua water and all of the scenery in this area. The Church of the Good Shepherd was taken from a distance and shows a different perspective and gives you an idea of the visitors to this area.

Hi all, I'm now back in Australia after a very nice trip to the South Island, New Zealand. The Moeraki Boulders are spherical boulders lying along a stretch of beach. It was great doing a sunrise at this location. I incorporated a few people into my images after they were happy to be photographed. I will be sending them a few images for them to remember their visit to the area.

Hi all, Yesterday we left Dunedin and stopped in for a sunrise at the Moeraki Boulders. The boulders are scattered across the beach and weigh several tonnes and up to two metres high. Lots of half covered boulders in the sand as you can see in my photo. Now in Christchurch for a couple days and heading out to Arthur's Pass today. Lots to catch up on when I return!
