tdoor laser skirmish can best be described as a cross between paintball and your traditional indoor laser tag facility. We cater for all occasions, whether it's a children's birthday party, bucks day, corporate team building event or you are simply looking for things to do in Hobart. Our main field is located at Kingston, just 10 minutes from the Hobart CBD. We also have a northern field available located at Forth, Fulton Park. We also provide mobile laser tag, and have a portable inflatable field available for hire. This can be setup indoors or outdoors and is ideal for school groups, school fairs and youth events. 💥 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬! 💥
Tasmanian businesses were forced to shut down laser tag, a non-contact activity deemed 'against community expectations' due to supposed sensitivities around aggression and violence. Meanwhile, archery tag has been running for years, with the objective being to shoot other players with a projectile.

Let’s be clear: this isn’t about consultation, evidence, or complaints—because there were NONE for laser tag. Overwhelming support came from polls, reviews, and petitions, yet they chose to shut us down anyway.

These bureaucrats earn hefty salaries, yet we can’t even get policies that are backed by basic risk assessments. If they keep banning everything while propping up multimillion-dollar businesses, how will this state sustain itself?

Maybe if their families’ incomes were on the line, they’d think twice. It’s time for accountability.

Notice of Session Cancellation

Unfortunately, we must cancel this morning’s 10 am open session. While we were hopeful that the forecasted weather would clear before the session, significant rain is still expected.

Player safety is always our top priority, which is why this decision was made.

We appreciate your understanding. Please note that all party organisers have been contacted directly. If you are part of a party booking, kindly check with your organiser for further information.

Thank you for your cooperation.

In 2019, school access to laser tag started to phase out. Now, Tasmania’s largest operator of the game says the ban has hurt his business, and makes no sense. TAKE OUR POLL INSIDE 👉 https://bit.ly/3ZoNca1

5-Year Deception Revealed: Red Tape Blocks Laser Tag in Public Schools

For 5 years, we have fought for public school students to access laser tag with parental permission. Yet, the Department of Education’s policies have effectively banned this safe, non-contact activity while allowing higher-risk alternatives like Archery Tag.
The hypocrisy is glaring politicians, including Premier Jeremy Rockliff, play laser tag with their families but support policies that prohibit it for public schools. This discriminatory stance has cost our business over $500,000, forcing structural changes in 2025 after 21 years in business.
Laser tag builds collaboration, resilience, and communication skills—essential for our kids' growth. It's time for policymakers to adopt evidence-based decisions and stop punishing small, family-owned businesses with unfair restrictions.
Tasmania is the only state in Australia where public schools are barred from laser tag, depriving kids of equal opportunities. Private schools participate freely, while public school students miss out.
Enough is enough. Speak up! Demand fairness from your local representatives and school associations. Share our story, raise your voice, and help preserve activities like laser tag for future generations. Together, we can make a change.

Thank you, Miriam Beswick, for your continued support, and thank you to Robert Mallett from the Tasmanian Small Business Council, who reached out today to offer his support.

FUN day today with these legends from Corpus Christi Catholic School Grade 4 Camp, staying at The Lea Scout Camp! One of my classic dad jokes is to pick someone to do the washing, and Nate was volunteered by another student. So, all the kids piled their shirts onto him! You're a champion, Nate!
