My first of many Fond Farewell services for the year 🥰

Today I had the honour to lead a Celebration of a life well lived for a much loved Husband, Father and Friend🥰 He was a member of the Woodford Bowls Club for 20 Years we paid paid tribute to his Service in the Navy and the attributes of his personality 🥰

Rest in Peace 🪦 George now and forever more 🥰🙏🥰

Woke this morning feeling better 🥹, I can now smell the coffee and enjoy the taste. The coughing has eased to occassionly and so long as don't do something stupid again like spray around GLEN 20. NOTE to self: You are allergic to strong smells, my mantra today is "I will not sneeze until my head hurts."
I have been following all the posts on my feed some have been wonderful filled with the promise of what the new year will bring. Some have been a little sad and cant wait till 2024 disappears.
2024 had many ups and downs for everyone our family included but we are still grateful to have each and everyone in our lives.

Many years ago I made a promise to myself to never make new years promises I could not keep and to just take each moment as it comes and live in the moment. A hard practice when your head and chest hurt, but I am grateful for the care my hubby David John Lenton has given me over the past week.

This morning scrolling through my facebook feed I found a little video and shared it, of a 93 year lady singing "One Day at a Time" it envoked memories of my mum singing that tune and I took the time to reflect on the words and thought for those of us struggling I thought of this being a great message for all of us.

I have now decided to reset and will start my 2025 aligned with the Chinese New Year on 29/1/2025. In the meantime I am going to follow my own advice that I placed on my vision board for 2025. That is to RELAX and REVIVE. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

As I stop to reflect on the year that was, I realise that 2024, had many highs that far outway the lows.
As a Funeral Celebrant, I helped over forty families say a meanful farewell to their loved ones🥰 As an author I self published my second book “Miss Sweetie Finds A Home” 📖 as well as being part of a new compliation book 📖 of Love Stories titled “Soul Mates”.
In amongst all of this I managed to marry a few couples. I was named the International Business Woman of the Year by SIMNI a honour that I am extremely proud of.
As a committee member of the Redcliffe Peninsula Chamber of Commerce it was wonderful to see some wonderful projects throughout 2024.

On a personal level in the past two months of 2024, life has been challenging 😥 with my husband’s health and that of our adult children also facing their health issues. Then in December we as a family said goodbye to two special people in our lives having passed within a few hours of each other 😢 These experiences have shown that we can and do survive.
I always pose this question whenever I am challenged in life.

“If the rough road gets you to your destination, and the smooth one doesn’t?” Which one would you choose ?
Over my life time I have chosen many rough roads, I have always arrived at my destination, some times a little beat up other times smelling like roses 🌹 either way I have always managed to reflect reassess and move on.

As I step forward into 2025, I have made a very conscious decision that I will not be continuing as a wedding celebrant. I have learnt my passion and experience is where I operate the best, as a Funeral Celebrant. I look forward to contining helping families “Create their Fond Farewells” for their loved ones 🥰

What a blast from the past. A lot has changed since this interview, my business has continued to grew. I have made some decisions as I move towards 2025.
I have decided to step away from weddings and concentrate solely on being a funeral celebrant, an area that I find passion for and I am good at what I do.
Since this interview, I have written and published my second book, 📖 “Miss Sweetie Finds A Home” and working on my third book. I have contributed two other complications - “Lockdown Stories” by Jo O’Donough and most recently “Soul Mates” by DeborahFay.
I look forward to walking into 2025 with energy and enthusiasm always learning, always evolving, and always changing to remain true 🥰🙏🏼🥰
