The Gardens hosted another beautiful wedding on the weekend. Lucy and James.

With the renovations of “The Pavilion” now completed to include modern bathrooms complete with showers, chandeliers and oversized gilded mirrors. The new Gardeners Bar, new festoon lighting and the up cycled paving done around the Belvedere, our event space is now ready to host a seated capacity of over 100 guests.

Then you add the formal lawns, rainforest walks, Roman Columns, cosy residence that sleeps 8, and the entire exclusive use of the Botanical Gardens, I’m pretty confident that you may want to just take a ‘Quick Look before you book’

Lucy and James’ wedding was on the 16th of December 2023. The outside temp was high 30’s well into the evening. Afternoon ceremony was on the Kings Lawn with everyone seated below the shady canopy of our amazing Nyssa Tree, along with harpist.

Afternoon grazing table and refreshments were served below the magnificent Sydney Red Gum whilst the Bridal party had full access to the gardens for photography.

The Reception was held in “The Pavilion” with drinks served from the “Gardener’s Bar”.

The mountain did not disappoint with temperatures feeling well below what was predicted, the ocean breeze came in from the coast, big skies and a kicker sunset.

Check out the nuts on this fella.

It’s not only the exotic blossoms and plants that are striking in our gardens. We have plenty of rainforest pockets, natural bushland, spring fed streams, bush trails and swimming holes.

This is a Macrozammia communis. It is naturally occurring in the shady areas of the Central Coast. It was a source of fibre to our First Nations people who ground the nuts down to flower, after soaking them for some time to remove the toxins.

In the gardens we use them for foliage display, their long weeping fronds are similar to the ancient Cycads, and add contrast and structure to the cooker parts of the gardens.

Another beautiful day in paradise. Wisteria and Cliveas in full flower at present.

The wisteria will only be in flower for a couple of weeks but the orange, yellow and butter coloured Cliveas will hold their flowers for months.

Although our gardens are private, there are still a few ways you can get to enjoy them.

We take group bookings and tours, and the gardens are regularly visited by gardening clubs, photography groups, and touring car clubs.

The gardens get booked for end of year work parties, conferences, and television shoots.

Obviously we are a destination wedding venue with full weekend packages.

And if you are lucky, you may be able to snap up the occasional spare weekend we have available and stay in our farmstay, and have the gardens all to yourself for as little as $395 per night.

Today was the day.

There is one day and only one weekend per year when we get this stunning display of purple confetti.

Our 50 year old Wisteria walk is one of the many amazing spots to see in the Gardens.

Our gardens are privately available for exclusive weekend use, mainly a destination for weddings but can accommodate any function.

Why be inside when you can be almost all out.

Clear walled and ceiling marquees, timber dance floors and a mobile vintage caravan bar. Have the best of both worlds and party on under the star filled sky, kick off your heels and feel the grass between your toes. Grab a cocktail and enjoy the lakeside stroll. Nothing is ever indoors in Paradise.

Happy rainy Friday

Don’t let the rain dampen your spirits, kick off your heals, dance in the puddles and feel the earth between your toes.

The bridal party never seems to mind the rain, this bunch embraced the weather and partied hard well into the night.

Still one of my favourite nights here in the gardens.

Happy Rainy Friday.

Not letting the wet weather spoil their day, this bridal party embraced the weather, kicked off their heels and partied on for one of the best wet weddings we have ever had here.

Best laid plans can still come undone, but here at Paradise we have everything covered…. Well metaphorically anyway!

So enjoy your day, get out there, kick off your boots and enjoy the gardens.

Paradise Botanical Gardens

North of Mangrove Mountain in the hinterland of the Central Coast of NSW lays the picturesque town of Kulnura; the location of Paradise Botanical Gardens. ‘Kulnura’ is an Aboriginal word meaning "up in the clouds", and the area was given this name by virtue of its high altitude of 300m above sea level. Here, the air is pure, the land is pristine, and the climate is perfect…it is paradise on earth.

Established around 50 years ago, Paradise Botanical Gardens encompasses 220 acres of native bushland along with cultivated gardens renowned for their spectacular flowering plant species, most notably Camellia, Rose and Lavender.

Being a botanical garden, we are dedicated to the cultivation, collection, extraction and display of a wide range of plants species. We have implemented our own research and development program to explore cosmetic and therapeutic applications of the exotic and native Australian botanicals which grow on our property. Simultaneously, we are currently investigating innovative methods of extracting botanical extracts to maximise their purity and potency.

The gardens are home to majestic trees as well as many rare & unusual plants specimens sourced from all around the globe . There are also interesting landscape features to explore including the colony of monkeys, exquisite stone walls, meandering pathways and plenty of picnic areas.
