An important element to all our Unique Motoring Events is keeping our guests fuelled with high-quality food. And none is better than having our personal chef, Ben Davies from High Country Food Company, with us at Targa High Country.

So, we dropped into the kitchen after the shift with a beer for Ben to have a chat.

Were excited to announce Australian Motorsport Legend - John Bowe is joining Unique Motoring Events for next month's Targa High Country (10/12th Feb). JB had his first Targa outing (ever) last year and he had a ball. JB loved the great driving roads, the 'çlosed road' green light sections and we know the great food prepared by our Exclusive Targa Chef (Ben) was high on his list of favourites.

We are based @ Mt Buller, a fantastic stretch of road with an 18k hillclimb (sensational). We have a couple of spots available if you'd like to join JB in the UME Targa Tour event using your road registered car that doesn't require any safety modifications. Welcome to The Ultimate Weekend, the Bathurst 1000/Millthorpe Discovery Tour - it's set to be a cracker. Millthorpe is an awesome village located less than 30 mins from Mt Panorama. It has a brand new accommodation offering (restored 1901 pub), a ripper little Cellar Door/wine bar and possibly one of the best restaurants in rural NSW.

The all play a significant role in The Ultimate Weekend ... there's plenty of variety - it's much more than just the Bathurst 1000. The race is huge, and only a few weeks away. We hope you’re all well, the year is well into the second half in the blink of an eye. We’ve been working to try and land this weekend for quite some time, so we figured we’d change it up a little. We hope you’ll join us for an exciting weekend, to a place that has so much to offer and has been a happy hunting ground for the Ford brand over the years! It’s a great opportunity to share your love of Mustang Performance with likeminded folks and re-establish friendships following such disruption to our lives in recent times!

We chose Bathurst as our overnight destination for many reasons, not limited to its location, beauty and uniqueness …. we think these are a few of the better-known elements surrounding Bathurst, together with its rich tapestry of history. We’d like to share some aspects of the region that many of you don’t/won’t know about. That’s fast becoming our passion, introducing you to events and places we’ve uncovered and sharing them. Richmond>Portland …. really interesting drive along Bells Line Rd via Lithgow out to the little town of Portland

Portland Cement Tour – The Silos of the Foundations … stepping back in time. Most people know/have heard of Portland Cement, few know about its rich history … will be revealed

Drive across (south) to Chifley Dam for LUNCH with Chef Tony J – not every Prime Minister had a dam named after them

Take the scenic drive to Milthorpe via Blayney, beautiful roads/country

Visit a local Cellar Door for wine tasting Milthorpe and a walk of town

A quiet beer … at the Railway Hotel (the previous publican was our mate – David Mutton of FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles fame).

Drive to Rydges Mt Panorama (best hotel/location in Bathurst) – check in and relax before pre-dinner drinks

Maybe a walk around one of the most famous race tracks in the world – bring your walk shoes

Targa Tasmania was completed over a month ago, our Media Guru Amac has since been creating gems like this one. This was shot on Day 1 Stage 2, the Prologue Stage into GeorgeTown, a beautiful little town located on the banks of the Tamar River.

We had a GoPro mounted on our Lead Car ... driven by TL David Cuff. It features the Mustang of Craig/Michelle DENNINGTON who were attending their fourth Targa event with UME.

Wow, what an epic event the 30th Anniversary Targa Tasmania was - our first visit to the Apple Isle ... it was outstanding!

To our drivers, what a stellar effort - you were excited, keen and pumped to be on the road. Importantly, you were respectful and took input from our Team Leaders whose role was to deliver TT in the safest possible environment.

Spectacular scenery, engaging roads and such an enthusiastic group who lived every minute made our participation in 30th Anniversary Targa Tasmania very special. Next year's TT is scheduled for March, so there's a big chance of better weather conditions.

Our next event (Sept 2nd/4th) is Targa Great Barrier Reef based out of Cairn, it's a fantastic destination. You won't want to miss the fun .... come and join our group of excited car enthusiasts! See you in the tropics ... cheers Team UME

Day two of Targa Tasmania 30 was a challenging one, with changing weather conditions, mammoth stages and news of the tragic fatal accident for one of the competition drivers.

Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones, and the rest of the Targa community.

Targa is a special event, this year is the 30th Anniversary and that makes it even more special. We’ve finalized plans and are looking forward to this mega event, the blue-ribbon Targa Tasmania. We are entered in the Targa Tour (non-competitive section) where the focus is across fun, lifestyle, dining while sharing the with friends in the most spectacular setting.

Targa Tasmania delivers the ultimate ‘closed driving roads’ experience, providing exhilarating and challenging opportunities for the driving team and their car. Targa Tasmania is your passport to the thrill of driving a performance car on the most beautiful, challenging roads against a spectacular landscape backdrop.

Our eight-day Targa Tasmania program begins in Melbourne with crossing of Bass Strait on the Spirit of Tasmania. We arrive in Devonport, then it’s a short scenic drive to Launceston with the excitement building every hour.

After settling into our accommodation - Launceston awaits - there's a suite of local attractions, including the famous Cataract Gorge, wineries are within an hour’s drive from town – looking inviting. We’ve built in some FREE time to explore, be a tourist in the spectacular town of Launceston and the region.

Official proceedings begin Saturday afternoon with the preparation of vehicles/branding in readiness to Targa. Sunday, has us sampling the scenic locality - exploring the sights. The day's capped off with our (now famous) Unique Motoring Events Welcome to Targa Dinner! Another Targa journey begins …

Targa Tasmania hits the road on Monday with a stage enroute to Georgetown and concludes with a Prologue (street stage in town of GT). We can't begin to tell you how much fun this is! We have three days based out of Launceston, returning each night to our accom. On Thursday we head across towards the West Coast and enjoy lunch, then we head back to Launceston.

We hold our Targa Farewell (fancy dress) Dinner in Launceston, retell our stories, relive the fantastic memory and present our Coaches Awards. Friday morning we check out and head back towards Devonport (via a couple of very interesting little towns) for the evening ferry trip to Melbourne. On the high seas, we'll take time to reflect on our Targa Tasmania adventure over a cold one (or two), celebrating Targa and the friends we’ve made!
