In recent times I’ve visited One Raceway multiple times … and again this week. It was the third time I’ve met with Circuit Owner Steve Shelley, this time we were joined by his BDM Troy Williams, (former GT4 Category Manager). Our conversations are focussed on creating events around the ‘quiet days’ gazetted one their calendar at One Raceway

The Development Application/Approval required quiet days or in our language - Static Events. There is massive scope and I’m really excited to work with the One Raceway team to build some exciting programs for the future - the sky is the limit really!

The work/commitment and investment by the Shelley Family is remarkable. What I notice firstly, Steve is a passionate racer- when he talks he comes from the racers point of view and is seriously focussed on customer service … doing it right for his customers!

Sure, he’s a very successful businessman with his Deputy business (google it). His energy, passion and vision are boundless - it’s quite infectious. Over the years, I created quite a few track days on the old circuit - One Raceway is next level. Very soon they will have approval to operate the circuit in both directions … utilising is the Shelley Circuit.

They ran an open track day for a variety of categories and Steve was out in his beloved Porsche cutting laps like the rest of them. Late in the afternoon Anthony Soole offered Steve a steer in his new GT4 McLaren he ran at the Bathurst with Grant Denyer.

A great afternoon with a ripper group of people … can’t wait really get my teeth in creating a range of new events at One Raceway. Cheers Hammo

🏁🏁🏁THE ORIGINS OF V8 SUPERCARS🏁🏁🏁

Dick Johnson Racing's first EB Falcon ATCC racers (EB2 and EB3) haven't been seen together in over 31 years, not long after Canberra Festival of Speed ambassador John Bowe won the first round of the V8 Group 3A era at Amaroo Park in 1993 aboard #18.

This category soon evolved into V8 Supercars, and the rest is history...

Wouldn't you like to see them together again, in their former glory? Something's brewing in the CFoS office...

A fantastic day at One Raceway … my host was Steve Shelley (Circuit Owner) and I was given the Royal Tour … no question the best spot on the circuit is the Opetions Centre above the start/finish line.

The Eagles Best I’ll call … is super impressive. Plenty of white shirts - Motorsport Australia Officials folks very animated/vocal as the click beat down to go green!

A very cool experience, I’m excited at tge prospect of working with Steve and his team building future events at the circuit for racing and the car loving community.

More on that (too) as it unfolds.

Cheers Hammo

I’ve been spending quite a bit of time in Goulburn over the past few weeks … very few people are aware of the story building in the background - more on that later.

I was back again for the weekend on my way to Melbourne … and was a Guest of Production Touring Cars NSW Awards Dinner … a great night.

Special Guest was One Raceway owner Steve Shelley who shared his journey from purchasing the Old Wakefield Park circuit to the creation of One Raceway .. it’s amazing in itself!

Interestingly, Steve was also a Guest (and I interviewed him) at our Legends Long Lunch last weekend. Prod Touring had their final 2024 race of the season there!

The other fella in the pic is my dear friend Chris Reeves (previous President of Prod Touring for the past three years). Chris is one of Australia’s Best Driver Coaches and I’m honoured to have him as our Chief Driver Coach, Targa Lead Car Driver and a seriously great mate!

The other pic my newest Best Buddy … and a seriously great fella who is also big into the car scene … if you sign up to the UME Lifestyle/Track Program in 2025 you will totally understand Roberts amazing story! I shared my 2025 plans of Targa Tassie (Nov) and now building my PheasantWood Circuit plans … Rob promptly said - jeez I need to get me a car so I can join your events program, his new Porsche arrives this week!

I love it … I’m truely blessed to have these genuinely great blokes in my world. The Melbourne trip … more about that a little later! Cheers Hammo

Everybody came away with their own piece from our Legends Long Lunch last Sunday … I returned to Goulburn late Wednesday to complete the pack-down and gather the remaining gear.

I did a final walkthrough once I was complete, what really caught my eye was the most recent addition to the walls - an EB DJR bonnet. Recently acquired from a mate, resident ‘Can do Guru’ Critch whipped this into shape within a few days and there it hung proudly … still with freshly painted fumes present.

Dick and JB were only too happy to sign the latest addition and lasting memory of the Legends Long Lunch - an amazing event. Thanks to Robert and Jackie for their wonderful hospitality, support and most importantly … their friendship!

Now this is where the fun stuff begins… when you bring together Australia's Best Driver pairing for a Legends Long Lunch in a room of 65 Invited Guests with a backdrop of Australia's Best Car Collection - it’s a very cool environment to deliver an amazing event to a car/motorsport lovers

Every time I have Dick Johnson and John Bowe on stage …,they deliver some of the best/funniest stories you could ever imagine!

A Special thank you to our Event Partners: Australian Muscle Car Sales, One Raceway, Pheasant Wood, Canberra Festival of Speed leading local Motor Dealer - Daniel’s Motor Group and Hughes Helicopters who supported the Legends Long Lunch.

More pix/story to follow over the next few days … could this have anything to do with the plot/clues being dropped here over the past few weeks - maybe, just maybe! Stay tuned for more … cheers Hammo

Yesterday was very special … we had a number of guests to share our stage yesterday. One of those was a fella who keeps a low profile - but plays a major role in Motorsport.

I’d like to introduce Steve Shelley, the proud owner of PheasantWood Circuit at Marulan. In more recent years Steve purchase the troubled Wakefield Park that had subsequently been closed by the Council, EPA and the NSW Government.

Steve set about a deliberate plan to resolve noise issues and build a relationship with the local residents … he is a very impress operator. He rebuilt those bridges and invested tens of millions of dollars in redesigning the circuit.

Relaunched as One Raceway … it’s is the only circuit in Australia where races will be able to race in both direction!

It’s a magnificent circuit …. and Australian Motorsport owes plenty to Steve and the Shelley family!

Oh, the car under the cover in the background … yeah - that’s part of a much deeper story I’ll share a little detail down the road. The event was Private and you might say it was part ongoing clues I’ve been sharing on a much larger story!

Stay tuned … more to follow! Cheers Hammo

This is very exciting, call it Part 5 if you will - remember I’ve been leaving little breadcrumbs with a clue each time and a cryptic twist. Today it changes a tad … yeah so sharing a little of what will be a cracker event!

The Legends Long Lunch will be just that … a Long Lunch in a magnificent rural setting - of course our Special Guests are what you might expect … absolute LEGENDS!

Oh, sorry - why didn’t you hear about it? How come I wasn’t invited, we’re do you get tickets …. it’s a Private Event! Im working for a client who dreams big - and this is pretty big!

Stay tuned, I’ll share a couple of discrete images from our Legends Long Lunch … I have to smuggle my phone in because everyone must surrender their phones/cameras to gain access … the plot thickens, what - there’s an Embargoo?

If you think there is more this, you’re right! Stay tuned … cheers Hammo

The fun continues. Part 4 (sort of in our amazing Event Build) . I shot up to Challenge Bathurst yesterday (Friday) and spent a few hours on Saturday morn for a meeting in the building of this our super exciting event.

I created a meeting with the Canberra Festival if Speed operations Director Ellie B and my friend David Murphy who owns and has access to plenty of genuine Supercars from the best era (I reckon) … the 1990’s.

The likes of the Seto’s Ford Credit car, Longhurst’s Caltex EL and the Orrcon Winterbottom/Larkham car to mention just a few. Some of these and others will feature at the CFOS on the Australia Day weekend in Canberra. While Ellie/Dave were building plans … I took her gorgeous daughter to show her some of the cars. Like mum she loves race cars … how the is this GT40, it’s in the best/most striking colour/livery - always been a favourite!

On the other side of the garage we’re my buddies Mark and Craig who have been my local Mustang friends for a very long time. They’ve done countless track days with me, John Bowe and Chris Reeves - I reckon their favourite event of ours are the Targa events - we’ve been delivering these since 2018. We are back for Targa Tasmania in November 2025, stayed tuned for a Special Announcement I have surrounding TT … stay tuned! Cheers Hammo

Further to my overarching story/plot I’m building in my mind … yes I am working on an event that has many pieces/layers. The previous two posts are included in my master plan. This location/event is the Canberra Festival of Speed and will be the culmination of our plan.

Mark in your diary, the weekend of Sat/Sun 25th/26th January … yeah the Australia Day weekend in Canberra. Now in its second year - this is set to be a cracker event for the Car Community … you will not want to miss it! https://www.canberrafestivalofspeed.com/

It’s held at Thoroughbred Park (the horse racing venue) … turns into a mini Goodwood Festivalover that weekend. I was in Canberra last week string aspects of my gig together so I fired over to TB Park for a squiz … I could feel/visualise it immediately. I’m working with their Operations Manager Ellie, who’s a gun .. she certainly knows how to deliver a red hot Car Show!

Of course while I was in town, I test drove our accom venue - The Vibe Airport … right at the Airport (of course) - that’s definitely our base for the Canberra Festival of Speed events. The Vibe has amazing rooms, restaurant, bar and secure parking - it ticks all the boxes! So you better get cracking and book your crew in, secure your car entry (link above). You can display or drive your car on their short display circuit. Seriously, you just gotta do it!

See you there guys … cheers Hammo

Here is Part 2 of the event riddle … the location is at an amazing property - home to what has been described by Australia’s Chief Car Show Judge as the ‘Best Private Car Collection’ in Australia.

There are many layers to the puzzle/event … keep following for more detail/clues. One of the elements/highlights will break cover on Sunday 1st December.

It will be super cool and one of the biggest/best gigs I’ve ever delivered … and I’ve done a few for those who know me well!

Stay tuned … more to come … cheers Hammo

A visit to the boys at Australian Muscle Car Sales is always a pleasure … the sight of the vast array vibrant colours of Australia’s Best Muscle Cars will send a tingle up everyone’s spine … well it does mine anyhow!

It’s always great to catch up with Mike, Chris and Nicholas - these guys are serious students of Australian Muscle - if you think you recognise the CAT600 Bowe car you’re right … the offering is one of many fine examples on offer at AMCS.

Todays visit, had a very specific purpose … we are laying early plans for a mega car that will be in their showroom in due course. Over time we will share a little more detail, info and see if the detectives among you can identify where we are heading with this.

More clues tomorrow … frankly, this is one of the most exciting/engaging/rewarding projects I’ve ever worked on. No guesses/answers required at this point … stay tuned for more pieces of the puzzle while I find a suitable prize in the cupboard!

Cheers Hammo

An announcement today by Targa Australia CEO Mark Perry will be great news to those who share a great love of Targa events. I’ve been in discussion with Mark on an ongoing basis and he flagged (to me) todays pending announcement last week.

Targa Tasmania will move to the new date of Nov 16th/21st in 2025 and hold the third week start window for the next five years. The date shift will ensure way better road and weather conditions - designed to enhance your Targa experience. The new date shows Targa are listening to the feedback … it’s the perfect time to run Targa in Australia’s best, most picturesque setting.

The TT ‘25 will see the introduction of a new format - now starting in Hobart and heading north over a few days then being based in Launceston. I reckon that’s a master stroke. UME will again take a group to TT with the ‘best crew on the road’ according to Mark Perry … we would love car centric folks to join our Tour Group. You can register your interest here at - [email protected]. I’ll continue to share updates as they come to hand.

It’s so been worth the wait …. very excited … cheers Hammo

A great day on The Mountain, these two blokes were top of their game …. Grant’s drive yesterday in the McLaren was outstanding threading the needle and coming home a winner in the AM Class with Anthony Soole.

JB had a cracker run today .. wrapping up a Class Win with Randall Racing, they were winners, second and third in the overall Championship - very cool given it’s their first full season of racing.

The GT4 format is an International Category open to OEM (manufacturers) .,,, current road cars inc Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Mustang, McLaren with more cars arriving to expand the current grid of 19 cars growing support for this awesome category.

Yesterdays overall race winner was Tim Leahey (with young Orange local Cody Burcher) winning in a BMWM4 and todays overall winner was George Meidekie in a Ford Mustang who also runs a young team mate - Rylan Gray. More to follow ..,

We are very proud to work with the team at Australian Muscle Car Australian Muscle Car Sales to bring these two rare and desirable/collectable Mustangs.

Both Build No 17 and pretty much zero speedo will ensure these cars find a home pretty fast.

I spent two days recently on the Gold Coast and with Dick Johnson at DJR where he told the back story about both of these cars from concept to reality.

I subsequently caught up with Rob Herrod at a recent event I hosted where Rob provide a full technical explanation on both Mustangs.

In all my time in the Ford World … Build No 17 was the most sought after - bar none!

There was only 30 Dick Johnson variants built and eight were manual. The DJ is manual no 17/30, the SM17 is manual and build no 17/50 for OZ and I understand there were a further 30 built for our New Zealand friends.

I’m happy to provide any further information should you be interested! Just reach out I’ll do what I can to help!

Cheers Hammo
