That light me up That are my w h y The young mum who just over a year ago was exploring her creativity in flowers through selling at her local markets now filling her calendar with weddings & nominated for @abia_awards - Jaye The florist just a year into her new retail full service business celebrating the fact she’ll never need to use floral foam again. - Neisha The career changing woman who sold their winery to immerse herself into a world of flowers buying an established but tired retail florist business. Now supporting her local growers, rebranded & thriving with exciting events & new clientele- Natasha The country mum who felt unsure of her next steps to grow flowers & run an event studio from home or show girls how to be brave enough to create the retail space of her dreams. She’s doing the later & flourishing - Zana The young mum who couldn’t ignore that little voice to bring her local community joy through flowers & 2 years later received finalist @abia_awards voted by her delighted bridal couples - Annette I’m so happy to say there’s many more! I see my role to be creating this fertile space of community inspiration and support for these life changing stories to continue to grow. So as I prepare to close the doors for this Spring opening of The Greenhouse and welcome our new members in I’m reflecting on just how exciting & rewarding it is to be part of these stories with you. ……….. 🎥 @flore_vallery_radot

That personal touch Members …… have you heard from me? So often with online spaces & memberships the personal touch is what we miss I know I do So as we move from our Wild about flora - online membership to the new ‘GREENHOUSE’ - mentoring community, announcing this change to all of my members as personal as possible has been a priority for me. Text, DM’s, voice msgs, emails & best of all actual calls & although it’s been a mammoth task buried in xcell I’ve loved getting to know you all & share the exciting things to come. It’s been a while Since I’ve popped in with a speedy mini tutorial but couldn’t resist some “left overs” creative play with these white fluffy carnations. An en masse spiralled stem technique, surrounding with wired ivy leaves & a touch tilandsia for texture & touch of wild that I love to create a petal cloud! Just to show how you can use a basic less expensive flower in a more formal & more impressive way either as a bouquet or arranged in vessels as table centres. This comment from one of my Flourish - group mentees & members truly made my day. So many times throughout my career I would have loved a safe space to connect with others sharing the same experience. As a new business owner, unsure of what I was doing, later in my career when I was growing to celebrate my wins ( & share my mistakes) & again when I sold my retail shop to move my business to a home studio. As florists we are so often doing it all solo, I get it! & that has been one of the main focuses of creating WILD ABOUT FLORA - online membership To connect florists, creatives, grower/florists & start ups, others who feel exactly the same as you. A safe space with no judgment. A place where you can connect with someone in your next suburb and meet for coffee ( yes that’s happens) or a new floral friend on the other side of the world. #communityovercompetition Has & will always be part of my mission. N e v e r S t o p L e a r n i n g I believe this to be true ….. I still, after all these years attend courses to expand my learning but I also understand how hard it is when you’re in the busy of working full time for or / as a business owner.
