Don River Railway, Devonport

This one has been a long time coming! A bucket list venue for sure at the Don River Railway.

I have always loved to hear the trains go past my childhood home, and spent countless hours bike riding and walking around the Don Reserve so this space is incredibly special and sentimental to me.

Today's couple are the sweetest and they had such a fantastic fun group of friends and family in the bridal party and on their guest list.

And seriously what an epic way to get married! The excitement as the train pulled in and 90 party-ready guests piled onto the platform and then made their way across to the ceremony space. The train then headed off to Coles Beach to collect the bride, her parents, brother and the bridesmaids, and around 20 minutes later returned to our beautiful space amongst the trees - they disembarked and we were straight into the ceremony music as they all walked in. Talk about a wonderfully dramatic entrance!

This one was heartwarming and fun, their personal vows so special, and the rain stayed away for us which was a relief too!

(A shout out to Matt from the venue who oversaw everything and was so helpful in making everything run smoothly for us too).

Feet up now, wine in hand, manifesting many more weddings here 🙏

Linda Pasfield's property, Beauty Point

Today's celebration was slightly different - a vow renewal for a wonderful German couple travelling throughout Tassie, at Linda Pasfield's gorgeous Beauty Point property.

This lovely pair have been together for 30 years, and married for 25, and the deep and romantic love they have for each other was truly beautiful to see.

During our ceremony they said some special words to each other in German, and then - OH MY HEART! - Markus pulled out the movie ticket stubs from their very first date to see Lion King in 1994!!

Sonja was not aware he had kept them, so it made for such an incredibly special moment. The absolute romance of it all 🥰

I LOVE sharing wedding days with couples who are full of love and hope and happy excitement for what the future will bring - and a vow renewal ceremony adds such another great level to that - spending three decades of loving each other, and to renew those vows they made in 1999 to affirm that they still do - WOW! So heartwarming to be part of their celebration 💕

Glendale Estate, Sidmouth

Another favourite venue for wedding two today.

This place is so well set out and Kayla at the venue does an amazing job covering off on every possible aspect 🌟

This one had some extra special layers for me - I have known the groom's family for over 30 years, and so to be a part of this day meant so much to me.

All of the great feels for their ceremony - an awesome couple, the beautiful bridesmaids crying happy tears as the bride walked in, the loveliest of personal vows, and such a fun crowd 🥰

A few happy tears from the hardened celebrant at this one, I get a real proud mama bear feeling when I see my couples killing it for their ceremony! 🎉

Waterton Hall, Rowella

My first wedding of the day, this one at Waterton Hall Wines.

This really is one of the most spectacular venues. Picturesque views in every direction and stunning gardens framing the main house.

Today's ceremony was on the circular lawn - my favourite space here - making the most of the river views and allowing for the bride's entrance from the front of the house.

Lots of family love for this great group, with their three children playing a part on the ceremony (and being completely adorable!), their besties standing up with us and their nannas signing with us as witnesses 🥰

And such a great exit, with FOUR confetti cannons - man I love those things! A super exciting way to finish the official bits and get the after party started 🥳

Cataract Gorge, Launceston

A sensational 26 degree spring day for this lovely interstate couple and their two witnesses at the spectacular Cataract Gorge.

This was such a relaxed and sweet ceremony - we loved seeing a little echidna wander through the space, and laughed at the peacock hiding over the bank with just his head showing - our very own wedding creeper lurking in the bushes watching on!

This one is a complete secret for everyone in this couple's circle, so I won't give any further details away.

But suffice it to say it was a very happy and intimate celebration for this fun group in this great local space of ours 🥰

Piermont Retreat, Swansea

I headed off from my morning celebration to an Ultimate Elopement with Daniel for an interstate couple at the always perfect Piermont Retreat in Swansea.

We zoomed the ceremony to their nearest and dearest which added a beautiful element to their celebration.

The groom wore navy and the bride absolutely rocked a royal blue dress - they looked incredible, especially against the background of the trees, blue skies and rocks of the amphitheatre. I can't wait to see Daniel's photos from this one 💙

A shoutout to the awesome staff at Piermont too who always make everything so easy for our couples here 🥰

Waverley Lake Park, Waverley

An Itty Bitty elopement this morning for a lovely couple at one of their favourite local spots.

With an exciting and dramatic turn of events when one of their dogs leapt off the pier into the water unexpectedly just as we were about to begin! He had never swum before but like a total boss he remained calm - the calmest of everyone there by far! - turned towards shore and swam the 5 metres or so like it was a regular event 😀

We then changed our location slightly and moved inland onto the safety of the grass for the ceremony!

Just the lovely couple, their dogs, and their six closest people as our witnesses, what an absolutely glorious and happy way to start off a Monday morning!

The whole day ahead of them now for their celebrations (and to get on to that unfortunate duck poo stain on one of the groom's shirts from the lake rescue 🤣).

Private Farm, Meander

What a lovely Spring day it was in this beautiful part of the world - rolling green hills surrounded by mountain ranges - Meander is an especially pretty part of the state.

This very sweet couple and their small group of guests enjoyed such a special ceremony, full of laughs and happiness.

I have said it many times before but weddings on private properties such as these, which are spacious and picturesque and most often have special meaning to the couple and their closest guests, always create such a wonderful 'village' energy for a wedding ceremony. Today's was certainly no exception!

Everyone present was so completely invested in the happiness of these two gorgeous people, and it really showed. An absolute joy to be part of it 🥰

Tullah Lakeside Chalet, Tullah

This was one of the coolest venues I have had officiated at to date! So beautifully set up and such a magical location.

The staff were so accommodating and helpful, and the room and outdoor area were decorated with some always gorgeous Bohemian Elements pieces.

While it may take a while to get there, that is definitely part of the appeal I think! This fun crowd bussed in and now pretty much have this epic space all to themselves to celebrate.

Our ceremony was held in the open but sheltered deck area adjoining the reception room, and we were all warm and dry as the misty rain rolled in over the lake towards the end of our ceremony - sooo picturesque.

And an awesome couple got officially married 🥰

Leighton House, Western Junction

Oh what a lovely elopement this one was!

A super sweet couple with their two sets of equally sweet parents as their witnesses, this one had all the family feels.

Everyone had a role to play too - the bride's dad escorted his daughter in, the groom's dad was our ring bearer and the proud mums signed the paperwork with us.

Such a relaxed and intimate ceremony with the four people who know and love them best.

On a warm sunny day and at a location I didn't know existed (and was very impressed by) - what a great space!

Private Property, Boat Harbour

A cool and breezy spring day for our ceremony in this glorious part of Tassie.

Today's ceremony was all about family and the closest of friends, and being held on the family property it always lends that extra special vibe to the celebrations. And WOW the proud parents have serious green thumbs, their gardens were AMAZING!

The couple's gorgeous little daughter, along with their niece and nephew, all added such sweet elements to this one.

Honeymoon Bay, Freycinet

What a brilliant ceremony today at Honeymoon Bay.

It was a little windy, but far less than predicted, and it really didn't matter! In fact it seemed to add a special element to this epic natural space.

Backdrops don't get much better than The Hazards, along with those orange rocks and turquoise water - it is such a gorgeous area.

Pablo and Kristy from Freycinet Lodge were wonderful, looking after us all and making sure the set up was just right.

Our ceremony was perfectly crafted for these two and their beautiful little fam, with their two children being up there with mum and dad throughout, and both with special roles to play.

Champagne at the signing and bubble machines for the exit, so many lovely inclusions 🥰

You really just can't predict the weather at the moment! The forecast had said 16 with a feels like temp of 11 for our ceremony today, so I was expecting pretty cool conditions...

But the breeze was light and the sun was shining and we were all nice and warm at Apricus. (Note to self: the sunscreen must go back in the wedding bag immediately!!).

Their group of guests were so fun, and the venue staff do such a great job here with set up and seamless transition from ceremony space to reception, it was straight into party mode as the ceremony ended!

A fantastic night of celebrations ahead for this awesome pair and their crew 🎉

I do love me a big Friday afternoon wedding!

And at Apricus - a lovely local spot for our ceremony today. It's been quite a while since I have done a wedding there so I am really looking forward to getting back into this great space.

What better way to spend a Thursday evening than marrying a lovely couple at a cosy Launceston bar?

These two wanted it to be kept easy, so I supplied the witnesses and we all enjoyed some celebratory drinks, lots of chatting, laughter and all the good feels. It is so nice to leave these little ceremonies knowing that we have shared this massive milestone in such a meaningful but simple way, exactly as these two wanted.

Vows, paperwork, cocktails, and two very happy newlyweds! 🥰

Miramar Beach House, Seymour.... oh wow what an epic space this was for a sunny and warm (albeit pretty windy!) wedding day.

This place is incredible - the house itself is spacious and beautifully appointed (despite appearances in my photo it is actually a very large and looming two storey property) - with gorgeous beach views.

And it lends itself to a party vibe so well, the perfect spot for this fun couple, their Best Dog, and their great group of interstate and international guests.

One of their Whānau presented a Maori prayer and blessing near the end of our ceremony, and it is was honestly one of the most wonderful things I have ever been witness to. "Special" just doesn't cut it, it was moving and profound and utterly beautiful.
