Donna has been dancing since the age of eight where she started doing Jazz Ballet and then quickly moved into Ballroom dancing. She has always loved moving to music and loved the challenge that came with learning to dance. Donna was a very hard working child that through her dedication to dance gained the right to represent Australia in the World Youth Latin American Championships held in Germany
when she was just 16 years of age. After completing school at the age of 17 Donna made the decision to move away from family to Melbourne to further her dancing career. During this time Donna travelled extensively throughout the World to learn from the top International coaches and compete at the highest level. Donna was lucky enough to be taught by two of the best coaches in the world, Robert and Helen Richey (Dancing with the Stars Judge) which proved to be a very successful combination. After winning all major Professional Championships within Australia Donna and her partner David Byrnes became multiple Australian Professional Latin American Champions, Professional Ten Dance Champions and Professional Showdance Champions. She gained the right to represent Australia over five years in World Championships located in Germany, Austria, Hong Kong, Japan, USA and the United Kingdom. Donna is a highly experienced coach that was invited to teach and lecture in several countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia. Donna and her partner also featured on the first two seasons of Dancing with Stars as a demonstration couple. After a very successful competitive career in 2006 Donna retired from competitions and moved back to her home town of Adelaide to pass on her knowledge and experience to the up and coming dancers of South Australia.
