To wrap up our wraps up for the year, it’s time to take a moment to appreciate the real MVPs (or MVFs) of our Tournament Season - the fish!

We went through the archives for 2024 and here’s to some of the big BARRA, the donkey BREAM and BASS and also the little ones - may they grow big and strong.

Thanks everyone for a great year. We are already counting down the days until the opening round at Gippsland Lakes to kick things off for the 2025 Daiwa BREAM Series!

Have a favourite fish for 2024? Drop a pic in the comments.

Big day sorting out the Garmin camera kits. We have probably six kits to give away to tournament guys who will clip and send us some highlights footage this year.

It’s beyond the ABT staffing to run, charge, edit and compile the stuff but if you’re just doing your own it’s easy.

Be in the highlights of all the events you fish. Your sponsors will love it.

Shoot us a PM if you want one.

Here’s to our AOY and TOY’s for 2024 🥂

First up in BASS: After a few years of being the bridesmaid, Mick Johnson took out the Boater title, while Corey Goldie proved his skills at the back of the boat to take out the Non Boater title.

In BREAM: We said it many times, this was the year of Mark Healey with four out of five wins to take out the BOATER AOY and Victoria’s Scott Scicluna did the miles and his great finishes around the Country earned him the Non Boater AOY.

Our Duffrods Rookie of the Year were Hayden Woods (BASS) and David Yuill (BREAM). These anglers were the highest placed AOY non boaters competing in their first ABT season.

Steve Morgan puts his name on the Mercury Cup this year for being the highest AOY placed Mercury outboard owner across the BREAM events.

And finally, congrats to our BARRA TOY - Liam Robinson and Elliot Woo for Team Zerek. Using only the mapping, side imaging and 360 on their Humminbird units across the season, Liam famously said at the final BARRA Tour presentation: ‘No Scope, Still Hope’. We think he need that on a t-shirt.

Congratulations to all these anglers - the cream of the crop across our BREAM, BASS and BARRA events in 2024.

Wrapping up our Open events for 2024!

Our BREAM, BASS and BARRA Opens are all 100% payback events - meaning big wins at each event.

The DUO Tassie Teams BREAM Open was run for the first time to trial a new venue to incorporate into our Tassie Tour - the Huon River. Mark Lennox and Wally Fahey had a cracking day on the water lapping their catch sheet and taking out the win

After nearly a decade of trying, Daniel Bonaccorso finally took out his first Daiwa BREAM Australian Open win on Sydney Harbour in May.

Jamie McKeown added his name for a second time to the Samaki BREAM Queensland Open Trophy run across Moreton Bay and the Gold Coast in June.

Col Brett and Quintin Maclean got to work on a point at Lake Awoonga to take out their first Venom BARRA Australian Open win in September.

We all got the feels at Lake Glenbawn when Jared Kermond's newborn twins were at the weigh in to see their dad take out the Rapala BASS Australian Open.

We look forward to adding the Shimano Victorian BREAM Open to our line-up of events in 2025!

Thanks to all our Opens sponsors and to all the anglers who stepped up and rose to the challenge these events present.

Zerek BARRA Season wrap up!

7 events across five QLD dams with 69 teams competing across the rounds - it all added up to a great 2024 Zerek BARRA Series.

A stand out event was the opening round at Monduran - despite the ‘wrong weather’ forecast our teams put over 90 meter plus BARRA through the app across the two sessions.

Over $23k in Venom Dollars given out to anglers when they caught their first meter plus fish and were wearing their supplied Venom hat in their photo. A huge thanks to the team at Wilson Fishing for supporting our BARRA events in such a big way. Thank you!!!

Thanks to all our BARRA naming round sponsors and supporting series sponsors - the Barra prize packs this year were awesome.

And thanks to all the anglers, many making big trips to compete at the events. We did work out that it was going to be quicker for Jacob Wheeler to fly home to North America than it was for Pete Breukel to drive home to Victoria from Peter Faust Dam. The efforts of anglers to get to the events doesn’t go unnoticed and we appreciate the support.

Memorable moments of the 2024 BARRA Series include:
• Luke Mulcahy’s costume at Party night
• How good Monduran and Awoonga are fishing
• Tim Morgan crushing it with four wins in a row
• The Teemburra boat ramp attack Brolga!

2024 Daiwa BREAM Season wrap up time!

A big year for the BREAM series with events spread across four states. We kicked off the year with great fields at Gippsland Lakes and Mallacoota (a quick peek at entries coming in for ‘25 suggests big fields again at these venues) before jumping on the big red boat and heading to Tassie for some of the best St Helens fishing in recent tours and seeing Ralphs Bay produce the goods on the Derwent.

The mega storms held off for us at the Hawkesbury in May and the crew from WATA helped us with a couple of rounds at Albany and the Blackwood on the West Coast.

We finished up the qualifiers in Northern NSW with events on the Richmond and Tweed with more good fields of anglers keen to make the Grand Final at Lake Macquarie.

Thanks BREAM anglers for your support this season! Thanks to the team at Daiwa for getting behind the series and we appreciate the continued support for 2025. Thanks to all our BREAM naming round sponsors and supporting sponsors. It was a pretty great year.

Got a season highlight? Share it in the comments below. A couple of the things we won’t forget about this year:
• 2024 being the year of Mark Healey, four wins in a season was very, very solid effort 💪🏼
• Scott Wilson’s gigantic bream during session two at Gippsland Lakes 🐎

Kicking off the ABT 2024 wrap up it’s our 13Fishing BASS Pro Series Winners.

We started the season in Victoria visiting Blue Rock and Glenmaggie, went to the Clarence and Richmond in NSW and finished up in QLD for the epic big bass-fest that was Somerset and then Wivenhoe before wrapping it all up at Lake St Clair for the Grand Final.

Thanks to our bass anglers for following the events up and down the East Coast and an especially big thanks to our headline sponsor 13Fishing Australia and all our supporting round sponsors and bass series sponsors.

It was a great season and we can’t wait for 2025 when BASS gets a new headline sponsor and we head to some fresh ABT venues - keeping anglers on their toes.

That’s a wrap on the BASS Pro season for 2024. Got a favourite moment from the series? Share it in the comments! (A couple of the ABT team season moments were the GIANT bass at Somerset weighed in by Pete Mazey and Mark Reinbott during session one and also the crazy storm that came through early on pre-fish morning at Lake St Clair 😫⛈️💨!!!)

ABT Tournaments | BREAM BASS BARRA

Australian Bass Tournament have been running catch and release bream, bass and barramundi tournaments since 1999 and we’ve changed how Aussie lurecasters fish.
