Ho**er Hut was moved to a more accessible (but still hidden) location a couple of years ago.

Featuring 8 bunks, a stove, a (currently out of order) fireplace and an Instagramable outhouse, I imagine it would have been quite the refuge in its older, more remote location.

Nelson Lakes National Park - a place where we decided to do "the easy one" - Mt Robert Circuit.

A 3-4 hour "relatively easy" circuit according to nelsontrails.co.nz with an unrelenting climb - they say the beautiful views are worth it but for us the mountains were blanketed in thick fog, although the experience was still worthwhile.

I remember the relief I felt as this hut (picture 1) appeared through the fog - and that's on a cold day in spring. The longer treks must be a serious challenge in winter.

There were some people seriously kitted out and I thought "surely not" but now I can appreciate the importance of hiking shoes, good sunglasses, waterproof clothing in general and a windbreaker (none of which I was wearing) 😆

Picton is such a beautiful spot, this was the view from the patio of our Airbnb - can't get much closer to the water than that.

I've felt so incredibly lucky lately to photograph friends in the most important times of their lives and Sam & Jacob's surprise wedding yesterday was one of those moments.

Lots of love between these two and their ceremony guests who shed lots of happy tears 🤍

💒 Just before we wrapped up at the Old Church in Pinnacle, a dynamo couple - Jordan and Kate – asked to visit us. The synergy of that afternoon together was memorable, something special.

🎥🎞 This is just a little snippet of what Jordan captured, in his natural and conversational way. We feel the time is perfect to use this as a beautiful video

When I was growing up on the Sunshine Coast I saw development take over and houses (and buildings) like these became few and far between. You can hear your neighbour fart in Aura and in plenty of other suburbs on the Coast and Brisbane too. Some people hate the look of old houses but personally I love the variety and character.
