When I was growing up on the Sunshine Coast I saw development take over and houses (and buildings) like these became few and far between. You can hear your neighbour fart in Aura and in plenty of other suburbs on the Coast and Brisbane too. Some people hate the look of old houses but personally I love the variety and character.

3. Reduce your photography package

It's quite common for couples to request 4 hour packages, just to cover from the ceremony to part or all of the reception.

Budgets only seem to be tightening and there's some good tips in this article.

I think it's just about prioritising what's important to you and your partner.

I miss shooting film. I always underestimated the joy in not knowing what your image looked like, the joy of hoping for the best. I had a Kyocera T Scope (aka Yashica T3) which is a fun little point and shoot 35mm film camera with a Zeiss 35mm 2.8 lens. It was basic but for a 90s point and shoot it produced some beautiful looking images in the right light with the right film. Everyone says this but these days we're chasing perfection with digital - no noise, perfect lighting, perfect sharpness etc. It's become sterile. The experience of producing something imperfect is so refreshing. I'll delve into film again, maybe 35mm or medium format. Technically, my digital photography is "better" but the process of film is so rewarding. If you're interested in photography and haven't tried film I'd encourage you to have a crack. Thanks to for bringing my negatives to life.
