What is a design proposal?

Unless you’re a creative it can be difficult to visualise what all the elements will look like on your wedding day.

Each of my couples receive a design proposal once they have booked in. The design proposal is created to assist you in visualising all the elements together. This service gives you full confidence in seeing everything is going to look magic on the big day!

How we practise sustainability at Pollen and Patina.

✅ Using the same vessels and ceramics for all our clients.

✅ Sourcing locally grown or Australian grown flowers where possible.

♻️ WE’RE A FOAM FREE FLORIST ♻️

Why?
Floral foam is effectively a type of single-use plastic, and it won’t break down or degrade anytime soon.  It also crumbles very easily and, when it does, releases micro-plastics into the environment.  Even the alternatives take a lot of processing, so from a sustainability perspective, there is no better way than doing away with it altogether and going foam-free!

There are SO many other options for foam-free arrangements – flower frogs, pebbles, moss (sustainably sourced, of course) wrapped in chicken wire like I’ve used in the above clip.

Ask your florist how they’re acting sustainably.

I’m beginning to wind up the wedding season and started to look back at everything that’s been created and the incredible couples I’ve had the opportunity to work with.

Holy heck, what a stellar season it’s been.
My creative juices were flowing, I was spoiled with colour, with design confidence, the sweetest couples and incredible vendors.

I’m going to let you in on a secret here…
You DON’T need all the things when it comes to your wedding flowers.

I always suggest a statement floral feature. Investing you 💰 wisely with a “wow” factor design. This design is usually at the ceremony or reception. In most cases I design fabulous ceremony florals that can be utilised at your reception.

Some ideas I suggest as statement florals are
🌸A lush and overflowing ceremony design
🌸An oversized climbing floral feature on your welcome sign/seating plan.
🌸Floral Hanging Installation in reception
🌸Big and fluffy clusters of blooms on your tables.

Do you know that there’s no rules when it comes to ceremony and reception florals.
Lauren couldn’t decide on a classic white and green wedding or a romantic red and pink wonderland.
I didn’t make her choose, instead we decided to do the ceremony in white and greens and keep the reception as a big colourful surprise.

My advice, just do whatever you want.

If you think about the design of your wedding reception, what’s the biggest surface area you have to play with?
It’s the tables! The place your guests will spend most their time at.

I always recommend a floor-length linen to give a space a finished and polished feel.
Linens can create an atmosphere for your event by transforming a room. Think of the linens as a canvas for the rest of your décor.

💜Bride-mates💜

2023 wedding trend predictions came in that wedding parties were “out”.
I’m not a believer of these prediction trends, I believe you should just stick to what you love and what makes you happy on your wedding day.
I LOVE that Emily chose to have an “unofficial” wedding party. Her best mates spending the evening, morning and day as her personal hype girls. No restrictions on what to wear, hair, makeup or who’s walking or standing where.
Just pure happiness, joy, champagne and laughs all day long.
