On Saturday nights CLub Acoustic, (NOT THURSDAY) bring extra cash for the raffle prizes and the auction of a chef. Rumour has it the syndicates are forming in town to try and outbid each other to win this chef gift, so just giving you the heads up that you might like to organise your buddies into a group for bidding - pool your resources!! It'll be fun, AND it will raise a little more for the Hazara Women for Change. See more info and booking details below in earlier post.

This week, Club Acoustic is NOT on Thursday. It's on SATURDAY the 4th, in conjunction with Maleny's refugee support group Welcome to Maleny. This concert is to raise money for the Hazara Women for Change - a group of refugees from Afghanistan who made it to Melbourne and are doing everything they can to raise money for their families still caught under the terrible rule of the Taliban back in Afghanistan.

The acts are fully booked, and feature Maleny women - musicians and dancers - who have done their best to enjoy their freedom over the years to express themselves artistically. In this concert, their performing will honour women around the world who don't live in conditions that support the development of their creativity, especially this under the rule of the Taliban, AND delight and inspire you.

At time of writing, there are about 25 tickets left. If you want to be guaranteed a seat at this concert, the advice is to BOOK. Doors open 5.30, First act 6.30. Delicious Food available - Pumpkin curry for vegos and chicken for non-vegos. Cakes, tea and coffee, and the bar will be open. All proceeds got to Hazara Women for Change. All performers are donating their time, and there is an amazing team of volunteers who have been working together for this event, giving their time.

ON the night there will be raffle prizes, including an exquisite hand made quilt, and there is an AUCTION! of a chef who will come to the home of the highest bidder and cook you and your friends dinner. Bring extra cash for these great prizes, and you might like to form a syndicate for the auction bidding. Tumour has it there are syndicates forming in the community for this fabulous gift. Once again all proceeds go to Hazara Women for Change.

May Club Acoustic is on Saturday 4th May. The next one will be the first Thursday in July, and after that, the first Thursday in September. Performers are fully booked for both these events. The final CLub Acoustic or the year will be first Thursday in November.

Last week's performers were Rosie Waters, Natalie Richy and Murray Wall, Noel Gardener, Alex Bridge, Peter Hudson, Jeremy Dunlop, Brian Martin, Cardie Boydell, Ally Bing, and Julie, Susie Duncan and Barry Trail offered some brilliant social capital on leukaemia research, frogs and Rising Tide People's Blockade.

Fabulous return to Club Acoustic last week - Thankyou Thankyou to the 106 audience members for your support, and to the 10 performers. Wowee. Looking forward to May 4th SATURDAY (on the Wood Expo wknd) for next one 😁. Special fund raiser for Hazara Women for change, supporting girls and women in Afghanistan. The brutal regime of the Taliban has disappeared from the news cycle (only to be replaced by more brutality around the world) but these Hazara people need our support. We won’t be taking bookings so it would be good to arrive early for Saturday 4th May. This occasion will be catered by Welcome to Maleny, our very own refugee support network. The performer line up is fully booked. See you then. ❤️

Amazing return to ClubAcoustic - thankyou Maleny for your support. We had 106 in the audience, 10 performers, beautiful food from Yuav, of Good Food vibes. Thanks to Paul Vicary, Brett and Chris for set up and break down at the end, and Michael Whiticker for great sound. Wow. 🐸

Club Acoustic is BACK!! We kick off again Thursday 7th March 2024, MALENY RSL, doors open 6 pm, bar, food, music, poetry, social capital - if you’re not sure what this is, you’d better come and find out 😁. Jacinta curating performances and being the MC, Regalia returning from sheperdessing in Latvia, Michael Whittaker on sound. March line up in place. As before, you’ve gotta be there to know who’s on 🤷‍♀️😉💚. Look forward to your presence. It will be every 2 months this year instead of every month.
