What another great day! Dr Chadden Hunter provided a humorous and entertaining presentation (with some spectacular imagery), the greatly informative deep-dive into resilience from Dr Steven Lade, our official opening with addresses from Mayor Rhys Williams and Hon. Alannah MacTiernan, a smoking ceremony, numerous popular presentations, and three amazing field trips, we sure hope everyone got as much as we did out of the day.

With only one day to go, we are sad to see it end, but we've got plenty more left for you all.

What a day! From some amazing speakers, yummy food, and some inspiring winners at the WA Coastal Awards for Excellence, we are just getting started, with two action-packed days ahead!

Some of you asked about the leftover food we had from today. Our numbers were a bit off due to the change in date, but rest assured all leftover food went to a good home, with much of it donated to Halo Team Mandurah to distribute to local people. It's great to be able to help reduce waste and help others at the same time!

We hope you are excited about the conference beginning tomorrow!

Registrations are from 7:30am at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre foyer, where you will also be able to record your tour preferences.
Please bring along a reusable water bottle, coffee cup and lanyard to help keep the waste produced down.
Don't forget to have suitable outdoor clothing/footwear for the tours in the afternoon - they will be going ahead if it is raining.

Programs are digital, so check it out before you arrive: https://www.nrmandcoastalconference.org.au/2022-program/

Urgent Update: Date Change!

To mark the National Day of Mourning and public holiday called for Thursday 22 September, the conference will now run from Monday 19 September – Wednesday 21 September, and will not include the conference dinner. All speakers and ticket holders have been sent an email, with no action required to change your ticket to the Monday session. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the conference and appreciate your understanding for these extenuating circumstances.

As you can imagine, this significant and late-notice announcement has had a great impact on our planning, and resulted in significant flow-on effects. We have been working very hard to investigate suitable options and provide a fast update to all involved, and this option was identified as the most suitable. We have tried our very best to continue to offer a robust and valuable conference experience, and encompass the resilience discussed in many of the presentations that we are excited to bring to you.

An updated program will be released in the coming days.
