As an experienced marriage celebrant, I get asked lots of questions about restrictions and requirements for witnesses at weddings. Here are some answers to common queries:

💎 What is the role of a witnesses at a wedding-
To witness proceedings and sign the marriage certificate. Witnesses are required to establish the identity of the people getting married and/or to testify that the marriage ceremony was performed.

💎 How many witnesses to get married?
Australian law requires you to have a minimum of two witnesses at your marriage ceremony. Your official witnesses must be adults (18-years or over).

💎 What are the language requirements for witnesses?
Ideally the witnesses at your wedding should be able to speak and read English. This is to ensure that they have a good understanding of what's taken place during the marriage ceremony and can read and understand the paperwork that they sign.

💎 Why is the role of witness important?
Your witnesses are often the first two people to congratulate you after you say 'I do!'. They will be by your side (and photographed with you) as you sign the marriage certificates and their signatures will appear on all the paperwork connected with your wedding.

What a day, what a couple! These two are so much fun and their bridal party were also such a vibe!

I joked with the boys not to get to trashy but they were more worried about the girls! The girls glammed up and got their dance on in their beautiful Bay apartment they did not disappoint and the boys turned up as fresh and smokin’ hot in their suits… these two are truely beautiful people 💎

The ceremony was gorgeous at the lighthouse Fingal bay and an amazing party at
Nic was on the camera and it was a cracker of a day!

These two finally got married after the Rona had tried to stop them yet again 🤜🏼 but we got there with the beautiful planning of Chantilly Rose Weddings] and a team of amazing wedding vendors and of course this gorgeous duo and their littlest supporters joined in.
A magical day, they loved it so much they went over to NZ and had a snow bunny wedding their too! What a dream x
