So many thanks to the Monbulk Historical Society for making an amazing cookbook of all the historical recipes of the area which has helped us develop a menu for the KALLISTA CENTENARY celebrations tomorrow!!!

It's not a meal at the Herb and Chilli Festival without a spicy soda! is made in Coldstream and is, well, YUMBO. It's very aptly named. Come try it! We'll also have grapefruit and lemon available if you prefer your drinks without chilli in them.

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT THESE PRODUCTS
1 - we'll be selling these absolutely delicious heirloom tomatoes and tomatillos from Wandin Yallock Farms at the Herb and Chilli Festival this weekend.
2 - We'll be using them for the toppings on our quesadillas, so you can taste for yourself how delicious they are!
3 - They literally come from next door to the festival - that's literally ZERO food miles.
4 - YOU CANNOT FIND THESE EASILY. Proper heirloom tomato growers are few and far between.
5 - Tomatillos are a staple Mexican ingredient - predominantly used in salsas. Have you never made a salsa with tomatillo? Shame on you. It's time to fix that.
6 - We are sooooooo lucky to be serving up mexican food using the best tasting and freshest and most authentic ingredients!
7 - Treat yourself!!! A world of flavour awaits.

We are so excited to be serving up food this weekend at the Herb and Chilli Festival in Wandin! - Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th. We'll be cooking up a delicious Quesadilla, dios mio! locally made drinks from with one very appropriately being spicy pineapple, and selling heirloom cherry tomatoes and tomatillos from Wandin Yallock Farms next door - Talk about low food miles! Tomatillos are perfect for salsas and hot sauce and will keep in the fridge for weeks - so grab some and start experimenting!
And as always - gluten/dairy/meat intolerances catered for ;)

We are excited to be working with the Monbulk Rangers Soccer Club to bring some amazing take-away to the club. Whether you're training or simply a lover of great food, COME DOWN TO THE Monbulk Rangers Soccer Club next week (Mon- Fri) . We'll be offering three American style sandwiches straight from their canteen located towards the clubroom . The Tuna Melt is a mouth-watering, creamy tuna mornay served in a crusty baguette, eat with a fork and tear off the sides like a cob loaf or munch, munch , munch like the hungry caterpillar. Our Meatball Sub is tender pork meatballs in a rich tomato sauce with fried onions and gooey cheese. Finally, we'll be offering what may be the best Ham toastie you've ever eaten!! Hickory smoked ham from Bills of Belgrave on sourdough from Monbulks newest bakery Bakery Bliss, mustard sauce, relish, three cheeses, and tomato, pressed and toasted to perfection. Also by popular demand we will be launching our own hand-made beef croquettes!! All you Dutchies come on down and tell me how you remember them, I'll do my best to create Monbulks own take on a Dutch fried snack staple!!

Lucky us! Our stall will be so pretty today at Monbulk Produce Market because we will be selling bunches of flowers from Bee-Youtiful Blooms - just look at them! $15-$25. Spoil yourself! Or a loved one. How about a neighbour? the possibilities are endless
