Vivian, such a beautiful lady, has been planning her 70th birthday party for over half a year. She’s invited more than 60 guests and originally requested four cakes. I suggested that two would be enough to serve everyone comfortably.
Vivian mentioned she’ll be dressing in a Hawaiian style for the celebration, so I decided to make one cake to match the theme—a vanilla chiffon cake with lychee.
The second cake reflects her love for traditional Chinese style, featuring the 寿 character, which symbolizes longevity and birthday blessings. This “Chinese Black Forest” cake is a pandan chiffon layered with taro and black glutinous rice.
Wishing Vivian a wonderful celebration today, and a very happy 70th birthday!
