Hello! 👋

I've been very quiet on Instagram over the past months, but very busily meeting new couples, writing ceremonies, and of course MARRYING lots of very special people!

I have been thinking a lot lately about what has surprised (and delighted!) me most about being a celebrant. I think it is all of the people I get to meet, who I would have otherwise not crossed paths with in my life ❤️

I've got lots of amazing weddings from the last few months all stored up and ready to share!

PS - get ready to see this beautiful dress come with me to a few weddings soon, because it's my new favourite for the summer months!

Three tips for walking back down the aisle (plus a bonus one!)

1. Walk slowly - soak in the moment!

2. Look up - the confetti or rose petals are not going to hurt you!

3. Don't forget to smile - you just got married!

Based on the pure magic captured here by I'm going to add a number 4 to the list..

4. don't forget to take a sneaky look at your new husband or wife ❤️

Another thing I love about this moment from Jane and Vaise's wedding is that the rose petals have come all the way from Jane's family home, dried lovingly by her mum for this very moment! 🌹

Vaise and Jane's beautiful choccie lab Lucy deserved her own post!

A very much loved member of the family, Lucy was going to join us at ceremony. However, as the day got closer it was decided that she might have a better time hanging out with some doggy friends instead.

She was definitely not forgotten, and had a starring role in the stories told in the ceremony and in the speeches!

Many couples want to include their furry family members in their ceremonies, and as long as your venue is pet-friendly, I absolutely support you! You know your pet best, and if you think they can enjoy being the ceremony, then by all means include them. However, if you think it might cause them stress or maybe they wont be able to behave themselves, then it might be best to make some alternative arrangements for them to have a fun day of their own!

Jane & Vaise 🚲

Another incredibly special wedding for me. Vaise is my brother-in-law, so marrying them also meant making Jane my (official!) sister-in-law too!

One of my favourite parts of their ceremony was a reading by two of Jane's very close friends. I gave them the marriage advice I collected from family and friends, and Zoe and Amy wrote an amazing cycling themed story around the advice. It was perfect!

Another beautiful touch was Jane's flowers, which were made by a long time family friend, with flowers sourced from her own garden, near where Jane grew up 💐

Have you ever seen a great wedding photo ruined by a celebrant standing right in the middle of the couple?

That won't be me! I make it my personal mission to be in as few of your photos as possible

Sure, I hope we get along and have a good time, but I don't expect that we will get so close that you will want to see my face every time you walk past those wedding photos framed on the wall!

It's not just about getting out of the way for the first kiss, I stay out of the way for as much of the ceremony as possible. The only time I might be in frame is the odd occasion where I need to hold the microphone for you (usually during the ring exchange)

A big thank you to for capturing as many photos of me as she did at this wedding. This couple might actually want me up on their wall - they are some of my best friends!

Why this will always be one of my favourite weddings ever..

I was both celebrant and bridesmaid! Such an honour to be asked by Sally and Rhys to play two special roles in their wedding day. An incredibly special day ❤️

(Also a shout out to Sally for being the most considerate bride ever, and picking very bump-friendly dresses to accommodate two growing baby bumps for her bridesmaids! I can't wait to one day tell my little boy that he was there in my belly while I married Sally and Rhys)

It's a question that comes up again and again on wedding groups and forums - can we have a friend marry us?

The short answer is no, you need to have an Authorised Marriage Celebrant

However, there is a way to have the best of both worlds! Scroll through to read more, and visit my website through the link in my bio to view my packages and get in touch

Sally and Rhys ❤️

The first photo says it all - these two laughed their way through their whole wedding day (which is pretty true to who they are in life, too!)

Being their celebrant was an absolute joy! Full disclosure - Sally and I have been friends for well over ten years, she was my bridesmaid, and for their wedding I was so lucky to be on double-duty as celebrant and bridesmaid.

Being a celebrant for a couple that I know and love is so special, and it was an absolute joy to be up close to watch them all the way through their wedding ceremony.

And yes, I did cry when Sally walked down the aisle (even though we had spent the whole day together beforehand!). There is something about the energy in the room and the expressions on faces when someone comes down the aisle that is completely unmatched.

I love the photo of Sally hugging her new mother-in-law just after the ceremony - full of warmth and love. One of the many wonderful moments captured by

(I have another favourite photo not pictured here, the two mums embracing after their kids just got married. Pure magic ✨)

Wedding ceremonies with all of the heart and none of the fluff ❤️

These are the ceremonies that I want to create for others - full of warmth and joy, and not with generic statements about love and marriage (you definitely won't catch me reading out the Oxford dictionary definition of marriage, or talking about how wedding rings have no beginning or end!)

HI, I’M PIP

and I'm obsessed with weddings! My background is in fashion design, and if I had my time again I would be designing wedding dresses as my day job. When I first started planning my own wedding, my design background meant I spent a lot of time planning the styling of the wedding, and we also wanted to throw a really great party. I had a great time planning the styling - and we absolutely did have a great party - but when the day was said and done, the ceremony was my favourite part of the day.

I laughed and cried through the whole ceremony, and so did my family and friends. I had worked closely with our celebrant to create a ceremony which felt just like us as a couple, and brought in our closest family and friends to make it truly personal.

After that day, I decided to become a celebrant so that I could create authentic, personal wedding ceremonies for my family and friends when they were ready to get married.

The more I spoke to people about why I wanted to become a celebrant, the more I realised that I could create beautiful, personal, authentic ceremonies for other people too, even if I didn’t know them personally. This was the beginning of get married with pip and get married with friends.

I won’t pretend that becoming a celebrant was a lifelong dream, I’ve come into it somewhat by accident! However, what I can say is that I absolutely love it, and being able to marry couples is a true joy. After all, how many people can say that when they go to work, they are surrounded by people enjoying one of the best days of the lives?
