FUNERAL WREATH
Birds of Paradise were this lady’s favourite flower. Unfortunately they are not in season in summer. (The flowers appear between April and November.)
I suggested to the family, to make a wreath with similar colours to this exotic, vibrant coloured flower. And to add some gum nuts and gum leaves to add some Australian touches to the flowers.
This large 45cm wreath was $200 including delivery, custom made to the family’s wishes.

The Frilly Lilly
Just made a sympathy bouquet for a customer. Large pale pink Lilly’s called Frilly Lilly. Such large frilly blooms with a lovely smell. I added white snapdragons and gyp, as well as ferns and greenery.

I finish the year off with a large Christmas wreath I made for a customer and friend Wendy. Roses with gyps and greenery and gold. I even sprayed the roses with gold spray, which in hindsight, I won’t do again. Enjoy the photos. of Cardinia

Red & White Funeral Flowers

My friend’s mother passed away last week. Aged 91, she was a brave and independent woman who lived that way until the end. Request for the funeral flowers was for carnations, as they were her favourite flower. Also in red and white colours, as that was the colour of Austria’s flag.
I purchased the Sim Carnations about 5 days before the funeral and prepared them by cleaning, cutting the stems and placing in conditioned water. They then sat on my kitchen window sill in the sunshine, allowing them a chance to open up, ruffles and all.
This took about 4 days.
Each carnation needed to be wired as the heads break off very easily, especially during the assembly of the funeral spray. I also included a few delphinium as the flowers reminded me of the Eidelweiss flower, Austria’s National flowers.
The coffin spray was approx 1.2 m in length and medium sized.
Family were very happy with the flowers. The carnations should stay fresh for at least 2 weeks. Babies breath and a variety of ferns finished off the arrangement.

Thank you bouquets…
I made these small bouquets for my gorgeous 4 year old niece, to give to her kindergarten teachers as an end of year gift. They contain roses, chrysanthemums, alstroemerias and wax flower. I added some gum nuts I picked off the local trees, and spray painted gold.
