I realised this week that I never uploaded my new logo. Following a conversation with a graphic designer colleague, he took my little idea and made this incredible logo for me. I feel like this is so completely the feel that I wanted for my little side hustle

It wasn’t easy to start a wedding side hustle just as the world plunged into a global pandemic but I’m happy to have done my part to get back to some sense of normalcy and back to weddings 💍👰🏻♀️🤵🏻♂️
Finally some advertising! Melbourne (and Victoria) are headed towards fewer restrictions allowing for more visitors in the home, reduced mask wearing and an increase in the number of people allowed in live music venues and other settings, which is great news for weddings!! Holly and Duncan would’ve been married earlier this year, but 2020 had a different idea! It was an honour to be part of their special day 💍👰🏻🤵🏻💕
It’s great to see that we’ll soon be able to have 10 guests at Melbourne weddings! So proud of my fellow Victorians - it’s been tough, no doubt about it, but there’s a tiny speck of light at the end of the tunnel!

The current lockdown in has been difficult but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. The Victorian government is allowing weddings with five attendees, a bride, a groom, one witness each and a celebrant (aka ME! 🙋🏻♀️) of course face coverings are standard for now but I promise I’ll make it fashion! #👰🏻🤵🏻 #💍

Meet Carly and Lachlan.
I’m starting with their story as this strikes a chord on so many levels. Carly and Loky were supposed to be my most recent wedded couple, sad news is that I had to handball them to another celebrant, but the great news is THEY GOT FREAKING MARRIED!!! :D
Let’s call their story classic 2020… we met last April and set the plans in motion to be married at Trentham Estate this April. Neither Carly nor Loky were from here, so we spent a few hours over lunch getting to know each other and I began to find out about their love story.
Fast forward to March this year and the saga begins. All plans for an April 2020 wedding are off for the time being and they let the gravity of life in lockdown to sink in.
A few months down the track, and a new date and location are set. Plans to wed in September in the Macedon Ranges (all fingers crossed) and I begin day dreaming about a weekend getaway (drink some wine and get a few moments of serenity – a nice bonus on top of marrying these two lovers.) But alas, the merry-go-round throws us in to lockdown again – did I mention, Loky and Carly are in Melbourne, so they can’t physically go to their own wedding! (my heart is breaking for them at this point, needing to plan and cancel a SECOND wedding.)
So, the race is on, we toss around the idea of me traveling to Melbourne to marry them, but we just can’t make it happen. Enter left of stage – Maryanne from Weddings by Maryanne. With news of NO weddings in Melbourne just a few days away, Maryanne takes the reigns and CARLY AND LOKY ARE FINALLY MARRIED!
I asked Carly if I could share her story, and we both agreed we NEED to tell this story, because at the end of the day, even with masks on, you can see the happiness and love beaming from their eyes. They got married, stripped back from all that they had planned, they got married.
We’re in an unprecedented and ever-changing world at the moment but we all need to do our part to help last night the government announced only 5 people could attend weddings, a couple, a witness each and a celebrant #❤️ #💍 #👰🏻 #🤵🏻
Merry Christmas!! 2019 has been an eventful year, who would’ve thought I’d end up the year as a registered celebrant with a side hustle!! Here’s to a big 2020 🥂
