✨We and our founder Gem are absolutely stoked with the outcome of our 2022 events, the beautiful connections we made with genuine people and the support from our beloved family and friends.✨⁣

Over the next couple of months, we have decided to take a break from the socials to knuckle down and really focus on getting some behind-the-scenes event and business excitement sorted! (yay)⁣

✨When change is inevitable there are a few things I look to put in place to help me get through it.✨⁣

Change isn't easy for everyone. Many people try to resist change to keep things as they are. But without change, we wouldn't have the opportunities, technology and advancements we have today.⁣
⁣
When you have a goal or a destination in mind and the wind suddenly changes, it's not always easy to get back on track and you may have to make some hard decisions and adjustments. But you don't have to lose sight of the goal. You just have to adjust a sail, or a plan, to reach your destination another way.⁣

The 21st century is a busy world to live in. ⁣

There are so many things to cross off our to-do list on a daily basis - it's often too hard to keep up. 😮‍💨⁣

Gemma, our founder, states "as an event manager I've had to learn to juggle my time wisely. Running large-scale events often takes so much time, and 24 hours just isn't enough. I have to make sacrifices to ensure the event runs smoothly and goes as planned. I do not regret any sacrifices I make because I genuinely love managing events so it's often worth it". ⁣

If you don't know and set your expectations, how can others be expected to know?🤔⁣

Setting your expectations early on in a relationship and within your business is so important. It's so that everyone can respect each other's boundaries and be held accountable for their actions, or lack thereof.⁣

If you have deadline expectations and don't share them, others won't understand why you're upset the work didn't come three days ago. If you expect your clients to be open and honest with their communication, make that clear in the onboarding process.⁣

Obviously, to be able to set your expectations, you need to know them yourself. It's not an easy task, believe me, but here are a few steps to help you determine what your expectations are:⁣
👉Consider what's appropriate and best for your community⁣
👉Make timelines reasonable based on available resources⁣
👉Make judgements based on how you would feel if you were the client/consumer⁣
👉What speaks true to your heart and your mind?⁣
👉Set your expectations based on mutual respect and understanding⁣
👉Minimise confusion and make your expectations clear⁣

The first networking event I ever attended was so nerve-wracking I was running off to the bathroom to meditate, and finding safe corners to retreat to. I don't even remember why I was so nervous. People were friendly, chatty, interesting, and happy to share their knowledge.⁣

I think my fear came from being a new business owner with few clients under my belt. How do I tell people what I do? Would people understand why I do what I do? Will anyone be interested in my services if I'm so new to the business world? Soooo many questions ran through my mind.🤯⁣

But I did it. I had, and still do have, faith in my business and my business goals, and through that belief, I made invaluable connections, clients, and friends.⁣

🌟When you believe in what you're doing it's easy to talk to people about your business. Share your goals and experiences, and listen and learn from others. You never know who you're going to meet at a networking event so be brave, be bold, and believe in yourself.🌟⁣

💪My super power is organising and delivering killer 5 star events and event experiences. 💪⁣
I'm not afraid to be bold and confident about this. ⁣

I've had the schooling, the training, the experiences, the practice, and the reviews to back it up. ⁣

I might not be able to fly or climb walls and use the power of the weather to save the planet - but I can deliver events that make people smile. I'm pretty happy with my place in this world so long as I'm benefitting others, even if it's in some minute way. ⁣

To add to my superpower, I'm teaching our youth how to organise A-grade events while encouraging sustainable and ethical choices to help limit waste at our events too. I'm certainly no Captain Planet - but I'm Captain Trying-My-Best-To-Do-Good-In-The-World. 🌞⁣

Taking on a more 'green approach' and improving your events' green credentials for being mindful of the planet and the importance the planet has on human health can greatly influence the success of your sustainable event. 👉 Go plastic-free Obviously, this isn't always viable. We understand that a lot of materials are made with plastic. But if you can reduce your plastic use at your next event, you get a huge thumbs up for sustainability. You might find your audience appreciates it more too. It can be done! 👉 Host the event within eco-friendly venues Some surveys have shown that 9/10 adults would prefer to use solar over electric. This is brilliant for the earth and for sustainability. If possible, choose a venue that supports sustainability through the use of water conservation, solar panels, and good recycling practices, to name a few. 👉 Reusable gift bags Planning on providing your attendees with lovely little goodie bags to take home after your event? We're all for goodie bags, but for sustainability purposes, we encourage completely compositable bags or better yet, reusable bags that your attendees can show off to future potential clients. 👉 Align your event with sustainable brands Speaking of goodie bags, if you plan on having your companies products in the bag and a few other little knick-knacks, consider sustainable options that bode well with the theme of your sustainable event.
