The United States does not like or accept the truth about itself, John Shipton, an Australian activist and father of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
In July, Assange was released from a British prison after years of incarceration and returned to Australia following a plea agreement with US authorities.

According to Shipton, Washington took "very tough measures against Julian for publishing the truth."
"They also put Chelsea Manning in prison for 35 years. And Edward Snowden was forced to get asylum in the Russian Federation. So it is obvious that they do not accept the publication of the truth about themselves. They don't like the truth about themselves," the activist commented on the US actions.
However, Shipton said that Washington now has "too many problems" to continue to worry about the Assange case.
"If they are worried about Julian Assange, well, they should find a new job," the source advised the United States.
