KATE & MATT 🌈

When We met with .j.myers and .c.myers we were excited from the beginning.

They didn’t know exactly what they wanted but they wanted COLOUR yet timeless florals. And We were stiked to have the opportunity to work with colour - so we got to work and shared our proposal and they LOVED IT!

Kate and Matt were married on the portico balcony at The Melbourne Town hall with . They wanted to repurpose their striking ceremony florals from the balcony to the .
We had 1 hour to bump in their florals, and 1/2 an hour to get them from the ceremony to the reception. And we had them covered!

How did we do this!?

Tips for choosing a look/theme for your wedding flowers-

❣️Be open to seasonal flowers- We know what is in season and the best substitutes if you’r favourite flower isn’t in season.

❣️ Trends are cool but they are generally here for a short time, choose colours and a look that you love and you’ll always enjoy looking back through your photos.

❣️ Flowers are a product of nature and while we may provide suggestions we can never guarantee 100% that we can get that exact flower, allowing us the creative freedom gives flexibility to choose flowers that are available at the flower markets (these special finds are often what ends up being the cherry on top)

❣️lastly, let the process evolve, having an idea and vision is a great start then let the process evolve.

Originally Kayla wanted lilac, green and whites, as the planning evolved she decided on accents of blue and fuchsia/magenta and we loved it! - especially the peonies!

While we are on the topic we are Sharing a little bit about us, our values and what we offer as a business.

We know that anyone can make flowers, but the difference between working with us and a florist that plays with flowers is that we will have all your guest talking about them.

We work closely with you, we understand timelines, floral availability, mechanics and design constraints, we consider all weather elements, we design specific floral briefs. We have worked in most venues accross Melbourne! We are reliable, organised, flexible and love an excel spreadsheet sheet! That’s just a few things that we have refined and continue working on and are only achievable with experience and time in the industry.

We have created strong relationships with our suppliers and have a great team of experienced and selected florists to help create each event.

Our focus is on attention to detail, this includes how the flowers are arranged, the colours used, the vessels and of course the quality of the flowers and cleaning up!! We love a clean floor!

Being apart of your wedding day is such an honour, it’s one of the most special days you share with all your loved ones, family and friends.

We worked closely with Racheli and her mum Vivienne. The original design was different to what we were discussing in the initial planning.
As the planning progressed and evolved we helped design the floor plan, suggesting a combination of long and round tables for the reception and the full floral styling.

Racheli wanted her florals to be bold and colourful with the inclusion of fruits.

Their chuppah ( The chuppah is a canopy that is a traditional part of Jewish wedding ceremonies) from
Had to include all yellow flowers not to be the traditional flowers attached on the front of the chuppah.
The yellow which symbolised the hostages / memorial / war in Israel. As respect to their families and war in Israel.

We designed the chuppah flowers with everlasting mountain daisies, matricaria and calla Lillie’s. We had to consider a short bump in time, and incorporate garlands of florals.

The details ~ calla Lillie and andromeda garlands for Leanne and John 14th September ~ It was a true Melbourne spring day~ There was rain, wind, hail and the sun came out for the ceremony.

Hi, I’m Jess, owner of Ivy and eve- i thought it was a good idea to re-introducing myself to our new followers since reaching 15,000 followers 🫶🏻 + sharing a bit about my learnings over the years.

Over the last nearly 12 years of business I have learnt so much, from humble beginnings of a tiny shop, to now (still humble at heart ) but on a bigger scale working on large scale events and weddings.

Over the years I have struggled with balance, this hasn’t been because of a lack of discipline, for me it has boiled down to sheer passion for what I do and what we have the opportunity to be apart of.

Now, fast forward to 2024, I’m now a mum of a 3 year old, a bit wiser, more confident and my responsibilities have somewhat changed.
I now understand and have learnt that TIME is a precious commodity and something we can never get back, ever!

So, what does that have to do with Ivy and eve? Well, I love that I get to be surrounded by flowers, have daily chats with suppliers, and clients and have Harvey at work with me, even when the going gets tough, wearing a bazillion hats, and juggling many glass balls at once, and the occasional“why am I doing this” moments . I still get to do what I love every day.

What I have learnt and leaning in on is “flexibly” and “freedom”. For me having the flexibility and freedom to work with people and clients that love what we do, being able to drop my son at day care and have a weekend with my family, having flexible working hours and getting to create amazing floral experiences for people is hands down what I now regard as business success!

It’s taken me 11+ years and a baby and burn out to really understand that working 24/7 isn’t good for anyone.

Allowing time and freedom has inadvertently grown our business.

I look forward to sharing the beautiful projects we are working on in the coming months.
