Being a celebrant, fills my cup!
However, it’s a scary gig, what if the couple hates my ceremony? What if I mispronounce their name? What if my PA stops working? So many what ifs, but I have to trust myself, and my couples.
The most crucial part of my job is to connect with my couples. I won’t book with anyone till we’ve had a video chat.
The connection is real. I am not everyone’s cup of tea, I’m me, a can be a little loud, but then a little quiet, I’m strong in my values, and what I represent. I will never engage or be part of a ceremony that doesn’t align with my values.
For example, I will never say ‘who gives this person to marry this person’ 🤮 no one is property, not doing it.
I also won’t talk about hurrying through the ceremony so you can drink free booze. Nope, this grosses me out too!
The WHOLE reason you are there, is to see your loved ones get married!
So all those what ifs, they are nothing, my couples pick me, because they trust me! They know I will do my absolute best to ensure they have the best day.
They WILL love my ceremony because we’ve invested time in each other
They won’t care if I make mistakes, because they know I am human.
We’ll just a little louder if my PA fails, and I’ll sing them acapella down the aisle, getting every single guest to join in… we have options!

I’m sitting in bed, feeling sorry for myself as I drank this protein drink which is meant to be good for you, but all it’s done is given me a very sore, bloated tummy, bringing me no joy or happiness. The only reason I drank it was because it was ‘apparently the RIGHT thing to do.’
Got me thinking about weddings and who you should invite.
We all feel pressured to invite family who bring us no joy or happiness, but from the outside it’s perceived as the ‘right’ thing to do, even though you will suffer and be unhappy!
I’m here to validate you, empower you, and cross them off your list. Your wedding day should be filled with all the people from the moment they arrive to your ceremony, all the way to the last note of the last song of your reception, are there to bask in you, your love, their love for you, and the good vibes only!
Don’t be like Kelly, don’t drink the horrible protein shake because it’s perceived as the ‘right’ thing to do.
