We have had quite a few gigs this week for Children's Week (this one is sold out now).

I love working with Councils, as they often are able to make our shows and workshops free, which means everyone can join in.

Thank you! Hobsons Bay City Council

It was really great to work as an Consultant on the Reference Group that developed this Tool Kit with the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission.

Whilst it can be difficult for small businesses to find the time to have strong policies and procedures in place, pay equality is important, in the arts and all industries.

PHP is very excited to be sending the fabulous Damon Smith to Warragul tomorrow morning, to perform this amazing show for our friends at West Gippsland Arts Centre. What a great way to see in the weekend for the good people of Warragul. ☺️

Get ready for Crazy Arms - The History of the Piano! 🎡🎹 Only one more week until you're tapping your feet, singing along, and laughing out loud. With virtuosic piano tinkering, absurd humour, and incredible stories about the piano and its players, this comedy-cabaret documentary celebrates the origins of popular piano playing from the late 1800s all the way through to the birth of Rock & Roll in the '50s.

Damon Smith and his band will perform music from legends like Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, and Fats Domino. So, come on down and get ready to hear finger-busting boogie-woogie, original vocals, and rock and roll hits like Great Balls of Fire and Good Golly Miss Molly! Crazy Arms is a pure musical magic journey through time that will have you jumping out of your seat!

We have had a great couple of weeks, remounting our Co-Production with the amazing Trash Puppets - the hilarious eco-arts production called "Trash with a Porpoise".

I loved this contribution from a young "reviewer" who attended the third performance of "Trash with a Porpoise" at the wonderful Geelong Arts Centre today. 😊

We have had such a fun couple of weeks, and are looking forward to taking the show to Forge Theatre for more school shows next week. ☺️

RIP Uncle Jack β€οΈπŸ’›πŸ–€

I was lucky enough to program Jack's amazing one-man show called "Jack Charles v The Crown", when I was at Drum Theatre. It was a spellbinding show and he was kind and fun in person. He will be remembered.

As Australians mourn the loss of an acting legend, those close to the 79-year-old Aboriginal actor say his legacy of love, warmth and truth-telling will endure.

I have been a fan of Gina Hogan for 20 years, so it is such a pleasure to tour her shows through my company now. She is the ultimate performer - stunningly talented, whilst also the nicest person you could ever meet - the audiences love her. 😊

Gina actually has 3 performances of this show in that week in August - this one at Drum, then one at Kingston Town Hall, and one for the Whitehorse Centre. If you or someone in your life enjoys a "Morning Music" experience, please check out this amazing lady in action. ❀️

We have had to reschedule so many of Amity's gigs over the past few years, but this one is going ahead, so please share with your friends or networks in the city of churches, so Amity has a nice big audience to perform to. 😊

I literally can not think of a more fun night out than this show ❀

Such a busy time with so many grants due this month, including 2023 Touring grants closing this week for some of my artists.

It is nice to be busy again though, after those 2 years of lockdown for my industry, so no complaints here 😊

What a win for Ballarat 😁

Eureka! The Andrews Labor Government has announced $6 million for Sovereign Hill to create new cultural and event spaces, generating jobs and attracting more visitors. This is great news for locals and visitors to Ballarat.

This project will deliver the Waterside and Wadawurrung Cultural Precinct – a state-of-the-art space to encourage people to learn about the Wadawurrung people – the Traditional Owners in the Ballarat region.

A new pavilion will cater for corporate functions or events for up to 500 people and also be used for education purposes and community groups.

Sovereign Hill’s famous gold panning precinct is set to be rejuvenated, with upgrades focused on enhancing events and experiences at night time, encouraging visitors to stay longer in town. Accessibility to the area will be improved so more people can visit the much-loved attraction.

Funding will also contribute to a new β€˜Valley of Light’, set to attract events of up to 5000 people.

The two-year project will generate up to 69 construction jobs and 11 ongoing employment positions. It is expected to be complete by mid-2024.

The redevelopment will provide significant benefits to the Ballarat economy by attracting up to 83,400 new visitors per year to the region by 2040.
