2022 has been a bit of a journey for everyone. Performances have been resumed, but the goalposts have been shifted (or should I say the side curtains?). If you have a performance in this final term of 2022, there is one constant.
Costumes without Drama still provide the level of care, support and costumes as always. It is never too late to get in touch. And, Like Mary Poppins, your call for assistance will be answered.

With costumes from Alice In Wonderland to Wizard of Oz we have your students covered! All costumes are barcode labelled and teachers receive an itemised inventory of all the costume items received.

Your production or concert may have been put off (more than once!) but that doesn’t mean you have to write it off completely. There is a way to approach your upcoming performance with creativity, some simple costuming and a sense of humour. The show must go on!
Oops.
Accidentally bundled up my scalpel with some fabric pieces I was pre washing. I will not be doing that again. The blade went right through the impeller!
It would probably make a good washing machine accessory for ‘distressing’ garments, but definitely not good for my costumes
Zazu is sad.
Zazu is still in a bag, he should be performing with children today. Zazu hopes it will not be too much longer before he is allowed out to play.
Thinking of all the teachers and students who were supposed to be performing over the current 'concert season'.

UPDATE: Zazu now has reason to be happy, provided we all keep our fingers crossed,(masks on, social distance etc etc) he is still on track to have a little tour of Queensland in October!
He will be happy when I tell him.

Although, he does put on his angry eyes when I need to squash him into a box for a road trip, but he usually bounces back to put a smile on the student's face when he gets there.
Some amazing feedback from a new customer who received his beard mask this morning.
'The medical type masks always pressed against my chin and crimped my beard. I would always take it off as soon as I got a chance. - I've been wearing this one for most of the day without the need to take it off!'

Drama Victoria are such a wonderful resource for all teachers of Performing Arts. It is great to have been part of their story for so many years
Costumes without Drama work with teachers to provide a no fuss costume service for schools and Drama groups. They have an extensive costume inventory, mostly made on site, with costumes to suit most genres of performance. They give you a fortnight lead time with costumes, and they launder everything afterwards.
That was a big job, but SOOOOO worth it.
Right from the start, 20 years ago, we wanted to 'save the planet one costume at a time', by encouraging the use, and re use of costumes, rather than them going to landfill, or locked in a cupboard for a 'lifetime'.
These beautiful old tailcoats were purchased over a decade ago, from a company which was closing. They are obviously vintage, and have been hand made. The lining has been deteriorating over the years, and patches and repairs just no longer held up. SOOO, I am now working my way through completely re lining them.
These will now be good for many more concerts!
Costumes without Drama is celebrating 20 years costuming the Children of Australia. We have sent costumes the length and breadth of Australia. We have costumed large schools and small rural and remote schools. We have everything from Armies of Ants and herds of Zebras. We can costume productions like Annie, to Madagascar to Wizard of Oz... Over the past 20 years, we have made in excess of 12,500 costume items.
