Well it’s that time of year again. Diwali incoming!! We have received queries about where we will be trading. We are changing it up a bit this year. Usually we trade at a few of the public festivals, but with organisers asking for big $$ (sites at some locations are going for $2000+ for the day😳) We are doing it a bit differently this year. Here’s when and where you will find us. These are community events, many of which the organisers are covering the cost of food and all of which are free entry to the public. Oh, and they don't charge us an arm and leg to attend (most pay us!) Foodtrucking is alot of fun, but it can be an expensive hobby 😜.

Also, big thanks to the awesome companies who are having us in to cater to their staff, many of which are having us back year after year, words cannot express our appreciation. Diwali is booked out, but we still have some Christmas space left in the last 2 weeks of December.

The team are back from trading at Wanderer Festival. Our Berwick store is re-opening today.

We had such a lovely time and met some fantastic people.

This is the first event we attended that use B-alternative crockery. This is where the event provides bowls, forks etc made from recycled material for us to serve our dishes in. This is then washed and re-used. Aiming for zero waste.

We are inspired! We already have some customers that bring their own containers and we want to encourage this more. Place your order, drop your containers in, while you wait for your order to be prepared take a seat and enjoy some complimentary mango lassi and pappadums.

Our servings are 500mL. Make sure the containers have a tight lid 😊

We will be running 2 dinner sessions every day from Wednesday to Sunday (5 days a week) of our most popular dishes. Price is $35 per person with kids under 12 half price. This gets you as much samosa, curry, naan, and rice as you can eat. Pardon the long post folks, there has been a bit happening. After a somewhat extended Christmas break, we are back but it’s not quite business as usual!

16 years @ our Wellington Parade restaurant makes us quite elderly in the Hospitality industry and boy do we feel it every morning when we get out of bed! To that affect, we have downsized. The Wellington Parade, East Melbourne restaurant is permanently closed.

We have a small restaurant in Berwick a mere 42 kilometres down the Monash and take the 407 exit. Now if that’s too far to go for your fix, we have another smaller venue @82 Punt Rd, Windsor that is only 4.7kms down punt Rd. Half a dozen sets of lights or 60 minutes in peak hour traffic 😂😂.

Melbourne traffic jokes aside, a lot of our regular customers should still be able to access the Punt Rd store through their favourite delivery apps, or if you make the effort to pick up, time it after 6:30 for an easy park out the front (and our eternal gratitude for ordering direct).

Berwick is up and running for online orders, and delivery. Punt Rd should be available for delivery. Waiting on some signage and tradespeople to finish up doing their thing there so watch this space.

Oh, and as usual the Food Trucks are still trucking on. Available to book for events and functions.

It’s been an epic few weeks for us. Big thanks to Delaware North, Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG),
Visit Victoria, FT events, and every last one of you who came to visit us at the truck outside gate 2, the truck in the fanzone and also at the restaurant.

Breakfasts for high flyers, multiple Diwali caterings, more tour groups from Indian than we thought possible, countless punters catered at our restaurant on Wellington Parade. From ex players, to media and commentators, to fans we appreciate you all !!

See picture below the aftermath of India V Pakistan, a match for the ages!! We have been at this location with the food truck for the whole year and at the restaurant for 16 years! Nothing has compared to the energy of the T20 World Cup in our opinion ✌️

Biggest thanks goes to our staff, we are a small knit team, all of whom went above and beyond for the cause over the past few weeks. You may see us sneak the odd extra day off over the coming weeks, don’t hold it against us, believe me when I tell you the team have earned it. Couldn’t be prouder 😊

Afternoon Melbourne! I am sure we are all looking forward to enjoying some newfound freedoms! Pity no one told the weather Gods, but that's Melbourne right?

A quick note on the weather. The delivery apps (ubereats, deliveroo, menulog & doordash) have all been struggling over the past few weeks, particularly on weekends and especially when the weather is bad. There is a general labour shortage across multiple industries (I know we are struggling for staff). Today is a perfect storm (pardon the pun!). If the past few weeks are anything to go with, there will be many unfulfilled orders due to lack of drivers over the weekend. Sometimes the apps don't communicate with their customers as well as we would like. If your order is cancelled (it is most likely by the app you ordered through as they don't have enough drivers to fulfill the order - it is not done by us) feel free to come and collect the order (it breaks our hearts throwing food in the bin), you as the customer, get refunded and we get paid if we have cooked the order. We give a 30 minute window after closing time for orders to be collected, but cannot wait around longer than that unfortunately.

Or better yet, come and collect the order in person and it will be hot and fresh. You can order online via our website www.twofatindians.net.au. It's the next best thing to eating direct in the restaurant.
