It’s actually far from it, I just can’t really talk about what’s going on… but what I can show you is this! A little WIP for one of my first ever clients 12 years ago now (where the hell did that time go?) because they’re getting married soon!

Time for another reveal!
Tail end of 2024 I was contracted by AllCreative Australia to come up with a solve for an event build.
The brief: “they want fake glacial ice, at scale, semi transparent so they can backlight it… figure it out.
So, after some small scale tests at home then hours of testing, materials sourcing, design and fabrication, here’s where I got!
I pulled this off over the course of about a month or so (job was 3 months but I spent some of that time on other projects for the same event). Design, scaling and materials was all me, I had a spare pair of hands in a colleague to fabricate (when he wasn’t called away on truck runs) and about 8 of us to install.
The walls sit over a 20ft shipping container as it was used as an ice/shot bar.

Quite possibly my largest solve to date… certainly one that was all on my shoulders.
Still hoping to see the professional photos from the event one of these days!

I CAN FINALLY TELL YOU!
Last 4 weeks have been a little quiet here because I was contracted by TEG Life Like Touring, in conjunction with Dreamworks to work on Gabby’s Dollhouse Live!
Myself, in conjunction with the TEG team worked tirelessly to help bring the magic of Gabby’s Dollhouse to the stage!
I’ve been in the workshop helping with props as well as backstage making adjustments to the set pieces to make this magical show come to like and, I can tell you right now, the kids excitement in the audience was palpable!

The show heads to The Princess Theatre this week before it’s off on tour around Australia!

Neo - The Matrix.

That’s right, the deal here was to make part of Neo’s Arsenal from the iconic Lobby scene from The Matrix. This is just part of what Neo walks in either under his jacket… as well as 2 Micro Uzis (which I built for a different client last year serendipitiously), a pair of MP5K’s and a pair of Skorpions… maybe I’ll get to the rest of his Lobby Loadout one of these days!
For now… these are off to their new home!

Alright, Hellhounds, here’s where I’m at.
As I explained at the start of the year, I’m not opening any commission slots until the current ones are done.
I want a completely clean slate.
Between these 6 pieces and two other unofficial projects I’m working on for clients and friend’s weddings… as well as some contracted work I’m taking on, things have been very busy for a very long time!
But I can see the tail end of these projects in sight! I’m looking at the personal projects I have here and want to make sure I release at least 2 by the end of the year (for those who may not have been here as long, those are larger scale scratch builds like my Omolon Scout rifle from Destiny, Plasma Rifle from Doom, various Bolt Weapons from Warhammer 40k… just to name a few).

Make no mistake, not taking on new commissions until these are finished absolutely affects the bottom line but it’s the right decision to make for the clients who have waited patiently for me!
But I am considering what the best way to make some of these larger projects happen might be…
Could it be raffles like I did for the Fallout 4 10mm? Or maybe it’s some new, smaller pieces to keep things rolling.
Do you have any ideas for me?

Remember… every time you suggest a prop, it ends up on the build list. I often choose things at random from the build list (that I think I can create well) and slot them in as a personal build. Last year I completed 8 personal builds… This list is currently 308 items long (I’ve completed 47 of those) and growing all the time. …So if you really want to see something built, consider commissioning it.
