Things are happening!!
I’ve been a 40k fan for 20ish years (and hell if I know where that time went!)
My excitement is building!
FOR THE EMPEROR!

To celebrate some Warhammer news, I decided to make a pilgrimage to the very first place I bought Warhammer models over 30 years ago....the Little Shop, on my home island of Jersey! 

My incredible team and I, alongside the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, have been working away in concept rooms, breaking down approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world. Together, we've been sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts. Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe, which has been agreed upon by those up on high at both Amazon and Games Workshop. That starting place shall, for now, remain a secret. Watch this space, though—more to come in time!

Rocksteady is pulling the plug on new content for Su***de Squad: Kill the Justice League after Season 4, with the developer announcing its plans to end support for the troubled online game in January 2025.

Craziness around here… 2 commissions (6 props) in the works, restock list has blown out to 66 items, about 15 finished pieces to box up and get to the fulfilment centre, still have to do stocktake over there… I’ve got about 20 personal projects I’m slowly ticking away on and I have messages to get back to but I’m having some minor mental breakdowns as my daughter heads to high school next year! Transition to high school day today so it’s busy, busy, busy!

Realised I haven’t done a proper stocktake of the props I have on hand in months… cut to me being surprised that I’m now printing off a 7 PAGE DOCUMENT to do so… you could say I’ve built a few things in the last 11.5 years…

Ok… very weird email tonight…
A business from the states reached out and said they weren’t asking for money, just to let everyone know “Hellsing Arms” is their registered trademark (with the relevant numbers) and to add it to my info… their business was registered 2018…
This is about the Hellsing Arms .454 Casull COMPLETELY FAKE PROP that I built way back… based on the Hellsing Manga and Anime where the completely fictitious “Hellsing Arms” business features… the manga was published 1997…
Not gonna lie… at a bit of a loss on this one… 😅
I’m just trying to make fun props…

IT’S TIME!
I’m back, I’m back on deck and ready to get some props firing outta here!
Lots of updates to make happen so I’m about to get stuck into it but, before I do, I spent the weekend with some Sci-Fi movies to get some inspiration and remind myself what I do here… so here’s some fun little inspo I reminded myself of this weekend!
All different types from Doom, Chronicles of Riddick and Dredd!
I love the dark, industrial hallways and flat slab constructions just as much as I love the over the top sculptural work!
I’ve got some things in mind to do so I’m getting stuck into it.
I also didn’t realise until last night’s rewatch just how much miniatures work there is in Dredd and now I love it even more!
INTO IT!

Ok, update time.
I’ve officially just finished up the most complex build of my life.
I was contracted by one of the film companies I work for to take something from concept and materials tests, all the way through to fabrication and install for an event.
At this stage I can’t show or even tell you much more than that…
It has consumed the better part of my life for the past 3 months, but especially the last month as I ramped up fabrication. Unfortunately this has affected a lot of my personal builds as well as Mass Effect Build Month, in that I really got no further than the initial photo I put up (reposted below).
So, I have some serious catching up to do around here.

I’ll be officially back on deck Monday morning but please bear with me over the weekend as I catch up on some tidying so I can get a fresh start Monday.
And as soon as I have clearance to show off the build I took on… believe me, I’ll be sharing it!

I know I’ve been very quiet on it at the moment.
Frankly, there are more important and more affected voices to hear than mine with everything that’s happened this week…
Mass Effect Build Month is still happening, I’m just holding space for those who need it. Their voices are the important ones right now.

Let me be very clear, Hades Industries is and will always be an LGBT safe space. We support body autonomy and choice. If you don’t get on board with that, don’t let the door hit you on your way out.

Before I get stuck into my Mass Effect build month content… and it’s heavy on the planning right now… let me show you this… it’s been A LOT of working out.
Square shape.
Square gradient.
Flatten.
Resize to diamond shape.
Scale down to 3mm height.
Grid duplicate both horizontal and vertical with a half step offset.
Duplicate out to internal grip height.
Overlay internal grip lineart.
Convert diamond pattern to bitmap.
Mask frame over grip pattern.
Find beretta logo png.
Jump into photoshop and invert the png.
Import into lightburn.
Scale and overlay on grips.
Duplicate and overlay second grip.
Rotate each logo individual by 15°
Flatten and lock with grip diamond pattern.
Convert to bitmap again.
Preview.
Set to engrave by power.
Make sure laser is set to selection only…

This has taken a hell of a long time to figure out these steps… tomorrow I’ll get to test them and hope! 🤞🤞🤞
