Just a reminder, when booking returns from the airport, the return time must be the landing time of your flight, not the time you think you may be out as this can vary greatly depending on the time of day.
We also use the landing time to schedule other pick-ups, knowing we can for example if you are an international landing at 6 pm, we can pick up a 6-6:15 pm going to the airport knowing you won't be out of customs till after we have dropped off, we also use your landing time to track your flight using the flight number and if the time is wrong we can't match up the flight landing time with the flight number.

Planning for the future of international travel at Melbourne Airport!

With international travel at record highs, we are working closely with airlines to finalise plans for a significant expansion of our international terminal.

In December, we welcomed more than 1.14 million international passengers – the busiest international month in our history!

With international seat capacity now at 113% of pre-pandemic levels, we need to grow our facilities to meet the increasing demand from passengers and airlines.

Here’s what’s coming:

✨ State-of-the-art baggage system: Construction is already underway on a $500 million upgrade to streamline baggage handling and improve efficiency.

✨ More gates, more space: Planning is now underway to expand check-in, baggage claim, and passenger waiting areas, plus up to five new widebody gates.

✨ Enhanced passenger experience: Discussions are underway with airlines on additional capacity for lounges, retail outlets, and more space to improve both departures and arrivals.

These upgrades, along with our elevated road network and third runway, will allow us to keep pace with Melbourne’s growing population and help deliver a smoother experience for travellers and Victorian exporters.

The upcoming weeks are projected to be the busiest time for the airport, as ongoing construction work at terminals 1, 2, and 3 will coincide with peak travel season. This means that between the hours of 5:30am and 8pm till early January, all pick ups and drop off will be directed to T4 level 1, also known as the Jetstar terminal. During this busy period we will be on a very tight schedule and cannot afford for drivers to be delayed by 20-30 minutes due to heavy traffic trying to reach the main terminal. This will ensure a smooth and timely pick up and drop off process for all passengers, minimizing any potential disruptions or delays. We appreciate everyone's cooperation and understanding during this busy period and assure you that our team is working diligently to provide the best service possible.
