When Alejandro (Torben) was 15 was the first electronic dance track that he fell in love with. Growing up in Melbourne during the 90's he surrounded himself with the underground sound of Hard NRG and worshiped DJ's like Nik Fish, Master Kaos, Jason Midro, Andy Golden and Jeremy K. Torben caught onto the Trance/Progressive wave during that same period and Armin Van Buurens ASOT mixes was his musica
l diet for much of his late teens and early 20's. At 19 he bought Stanton T.80 Turntables and a 2 channel mixer. After 6 months of gathering dust they were put them away to focus on his corporate career
Musically Alejandro's taste's have been forever progressing and there really isn't a genre that he won't play except Melbourne Bounce (sorry it just really hurts my ears!). Torben has been focusing more on Deeper underground electronic music of late. Wind the clock forward 7 years and after a solid 2 years of practising, recording & spamming anyone who he thought would listen to his mixes Dave Juric took notice and helped grow Alejandro's technical skills and that led to Alejandro having a podcast released (2013) for the secretive "Mahala" Facebook group. Torben got his first opportunity playing at New Guernica opening the Kitchen on Feb 14 2014 for Adam Freeland and thus becoming apart of the Darkbeat crew. Philosophy:
Its a long Journey to follow your dreams, theirs roadblocks in the way friends/family/work and of course your self. But If you truly believe and don't lose sight of the end goal then there is nothing you can't do. Only things people tell you you cant do. Convince yourself your the best and you will be - do the work, stay the course and even if you do fail stay true to yourself and fail. Fail often. Listen to the music the makes you feel good.
