What Does It Cost? Part 8: Pink & Olive Green Reception 🎀💚

One of the biggest questions we hear is:
“How much should I budget for wedding styling?”

The answer depends on a range of factors including the venue, guest numbers, styling priorities and the overall look you’re hoping to achieve.

This reception is one example of how a styling concept can come together and what may be included within that budget range.

This series is designed to provide clarity around wedding styling costs and the decisions that influence the final result.

This example is intended as a guide only. Pricing can vary depending on the venue, guest numbers, styling selections, labour, installation requirements and other factors.

Choosing a colour palette is often one of the first styling decisions made for an event.

What many people don’t realise is that the impact doesn’t come from the colour itself.
It comes from how consistently it’s carried throughout the space.

When colour appears across multiple styling elements, the overall look feels more intentional and visually stronger than relying on one feature alone.

It’s often these smaller decisions that create the biggest difference in the final result. 🎀✨🤌🏼

One of the biggest styling mistakes we see?

Making styling decisions before understanding what will actually work in the space.

The backdrop might look great. The centrepieces might be beautiful.
But that doesn’t mean the overall room will feel balanced.

Because styling isn’t just about choosing products.

It’s about making better styling decisions.

When developing a styling design, every element should contribute to the overall visual outcome.

Digital backdrops can be used to incorporate personalised artwork, imagery, colour and design elements into the overall styling direction of an event.

Rather than being treated as a separate feature, they can become part of the styling design itself.

Whether that’s custom artwork, photography, branding or graphic elements, the goal isn’t simply to add another feature.

It’s to ensure different design elements work together to create the overall look you’re trying to achieve✨

What Does It Cost? Part 7: Classic Romance Reception 💒✨

A common misconception is that wedding styling budgets are determined by one or two major features.

In reality, the overall look is usually the result of multiple styling elements working together.
For this classic romance reception, the design included elegant florals, candlelight, draping and styling details selected to create a timeless and refined setting.

In this series, we’re breaking down real styling concepts to help couples better understand what contributes to the overall cost of wedding styling and where their budget is being allocated.

Because understanding the cost is only part of the equation.

Understanding what contributes to the visual outcome you’re trying to achieve is just as important.

This example is intended as a guide only. Pricing can vary depending on venue requirements, guest numbers, styling selections, installation requirements and other event-specific factors.

A ceremony designed to make a statement ♥️🌹

For this wedding ceremony, the styling centred around a deep red colour palette, layered draping and statement florals that immediately drew attention towards the ceremony space.

Rather than relying on a single feature, the styling was designed to build impact through multiple elements working together. The draping added scale and depth, while the florals helped frame the ceremony and strengthen the focal point from every angle.

When the styling direction is clear from the beginning, it’s easier to understand where visual impact should come from and how each element can contribute to the overall result.

The outcome was a ceremony that felt bold, dramatic and impossible to ignore.

A night at Melbourne Zoo for the Champion Awards ✨

For this event, the styling focused on creating impact from the moment guests arrived, while working with the venue’s natural surroundings rather than competing with them.

Layered greenery, candlelight and statement centrepieces were used throughout the space to add depth, create stronger focal points and bring a sense of scale to the room.

By carrying those elements consistently across the event, the styling felt intentional from arrival through to the awards presentation, creating a polished backdrop for the evening’s celebrations.

One of the most common questions we get is why we start weddings and events with a design fee before preparing the styling concept and quote.

The simple answer is that this stage isn’t about pricing. It’s about working out what will actually create the result you’re hoping for before major styling decisions are made.

Every venue, layout and event is different. The design stage helps us understand what will work, where the styling should be focused and how the budget can be used most effectively before anything is locked in.
Swipe through for a closer look at how the process works.
