About Us

When you choose a name that has a direct association with France and food, there is an implied responsibility to be very good, preferably outstanding where food is involved. Tartine is French for a slice of bread and butter, small tart or snack. Tartine Gourmet is considerably more than this. It's a food store, finger food and platters caterer and provider of party food 7 days a week. Located in the heart of High Street,Armadale, Tartine has famously built its reputation over 3decades from the same address.And for all that time has remained dynamic and relevant under the expert guidance of the Maskiell family. Headed by Janis Maskiell and her daughters Nikki, Kate and Samantha.

Being a 'specialist ' and doing what it does best has contributed to Tartine's popularity throughout Melbourne and Interstate. The attraction for many people is the freshly made bench top selection,that would rival any tapas bar. For others it's the artisan salads - minimum 6 daily. And for the time poor Tartine really comes into its own with an unequaled range of ready to serve, globally inspired meals, fresh soups, desserts, puddings and cakes.

According to Janis mediocrity has no place in the Tartine mind-set. She commented " We strive for excellence and want our customers to get a sense of anticipation and excitement when visiting our premises. This can only be achieved by offering an amazing selection every day ." she said.
