Last hitch incoming for 2023!

It's been a great year with great people. I haven't kept count of the amount of weddings Ive officiated this season, I've focused on family / work balance instead.
Some weeks I nailed it, some weeks I didn't; but I'm pretty stoked with my evolution as a business owner and a writer.
Plus, I've met and married the most beautiful people.

Isabel and Byron ✨️ Part Two

An outfit change and larger venue for kick ons, dreamy factor still at ten million

Isabel and Byron fell in love on either side of various coffee machines around Melbourne.
Byron, a pro barista; tall and brooding and beautiful, caught Isabel's eye the second she walked into Degraves Espresso.
She regularly caffeinated herself between classes while attending art school and Byron loved every brief, unforgettable interaction.

Isabel and Byron ✨️ Part One

In the heart of the CBD, these two found a super romantic, kinda gothic, kinda old timey cocktail bar.
Staff at .cottage served drinks as Isabel and Byron greeted their guests together.
We all swooned over the vintage lace gown Isabel thrifted and the vast collection of records displayed around the bar.

At ceremony time I gathered everyone outside on the lawn and got them ready to celebrate.
Isabel and Byron walked out together and took their place under the tallest tree to say their vows.
They both were perfect. I loved every second.

Alot of people don't know: you are legally and officially hitched once you say the legal vow to your lover, and they've said it back, in front of at least two witnesses.
If you're one of those people that likes to pinpoint a moment - this is it

We sign the papers and I send it off to BDM on your behalf.
You'll keep this fancy ye olde cert on the day but the official marriage certificate will be posted to your door.

Life update ✨️

We are incredibly privileged to be expecting our second babe.

Hayden and I know how lucky we are. And we also want to thank those 2024 couples that took my cancellation for their weddings so graciously and filled our happy little hearts with their well wishes

So, I'll be taking a couple months off after Feb but if you're getting married in 2024 and haven't yet heard from me, rest assured I'll be at your ceremony.

For anyone whose path to parenthood hasn't been easy, I know seeing news like this can be triggering.
I see you. Go gently superhumans 🖤 sending tight squeezes and endless love

This was to be the very beginning of their Tinder success story, of soul fulfilling travel, house hunting and planning a future together

This ceremony began with a throwback to 2012, where in the sprawling realm of the internet blogs thrived, ideas intermingled, and a virtual platform called Tumblr allowed creatives to adorn their screens with vivid stories and a kaleidoscope of thoughts.

Jack and Hemlock fell in love through their online world and became inseperable when they finally met in person.

11 years in the making and they tied the knot in an utterly gorgeous, Shakespearean wedding last Friday

I'm back from Hammo island and kicked off the wedding season on Saturday with Megan and Liam

Earlier this year, Megan was diagnosed with alopecia and lost her hair. Liam asked friends and family if they could chip in for a wig to gift her, knowing she was dreading her wedding day.
The red hair she chose was brilliant against the forest greens of
as the year progressed, Megan gained more confidence and we loved watching her whip off her wig to groove into the reception el naturale. Both looks were stunning!

The way they spoke of each other during their vows and speeches reminded me why I'm so lucky to witness the best and most memorable moments of peoples lives

Some couples like to see each other for the first time at their ceremony, there's some magic in that moment for them.
Others, like Bec and Jason here, meet each other earlier to swoon over their wedding day 'fits, go for a drink and revel in the pre married buzz before their loved ones descend and start the party.

It seems every engaged future friend of mine is sliding through the contact form on my website. A heap recently for elopements in bars, restaurants, ice cream shops (hey - pictured)
But weekend availability is scarce in those warmer months.

Saturdays are cool and all but if you get a bunch of 'I'm unavailable' responses back from the vendors you reeeally wanted, i guarantee you have a better chance of locking in your faves if you wanna switch to a weekday, and midweek matrimony feels just as good

I was trusted with the privilege of creating a ceremony for Sara and Jotham last month. Two wonderful humans who didn't have much experience with civil ceremony and who weren't exactly sure exactly what was commonplace; so you can imagine how incredible it felt to guide them into a celebration where the only "common" element was staying true to their originality and celebrating it with a kiss at the end.

I worked in a small ritual that fed into their love story, nodding to Jothams travels and their shared experiences.
It was personal, authentic and they were absolutely beautiful.

Frankie and Matt planned their wedding at the start of 2022, and later that year they scrapped the plan and pulled together something different.

They changed their mind on everything, except their vendors.
So we hiked with them on a windy May day. Family in tow, a couple of their closest friends, their dog and a picnic basket full of champs and snacks.

I married them overlooking a view their adventurous hearts had hungered for. They realised they were originally planning a wedding on auto pilot but they created the most sensational memories for themselves once they found the courage to tap into their inner most desires.

The original wedding would have been perfectly lovely, but the reimagined nups were FIIIYAAAA 🔥

✨️ Bex and Mel ✨️

From the moment Bex laid eyes on Mel, she knew it was love.
Mel bringing those loud, fun and bubbly vibes… plus Bex thought she was hotttt.

And the feeling was very mutual. Mel even made a mental note to keep her pants on but everything about Bex was intriguing, and she just couldn’t wait to know all about her.

They stepped out of their uber with a group of mates to hit the dancefloor at Sundaylicious and once inside, Bex grabbed Mels hand and said "you're coming with me"

Now they've been eating, drinking, lounging, dancing and parenting together ever since
