Prep till Party. And everything in between.

So many photographers and videographers work on a set hourly schedule of 6/8/10+ hours. The way we structure this is a little different so you wont have to worry if we are leaving before those important moments (nor be fearing the additional hours invoice afterwards if/when the day runs longer than planned).

We start at prep so we get all the moments like this one here and we go until the dance floor has well and truly kicked off so we have a great representation of your day before that final (sometimes messy) hour starts.⁠

I’m all for making things straight forward for couples with their wedding planning - knowing I’ll be there for all those pearler moments no matter what.

This is how you should feel when heading into your portrait sesh on your wedding day.

The beaut thing about getting married at this time of year… the days are longer, so there is no need for you to skip on those hugs and high fives after your ceremony, getting a drink and soaking up on the good times with your crew.

Give us 20 mins just before sunset and you’re all good to go… the rest of the time should be spent with your friends and family.

Well, weekends - you’ve been fun.

Let’s talk getting ready locations.

I’m a firm believer if you’re getting married (for example) in the Yarra Valley, it makes so much more sense to actually get ready in the Yarra Valley.

Sure, the parentals house which is located 75 mins away may have been the childhood dream - however consider the following if you’re wanting a more relaxed morning on your day of days:

🙏 The less time for travel between your preparations to your ceremony, the more time you will have with your favourite people on your wedding morning. More champers, more time for golf or beers with the boys. Less time battling traffic, seatbelts over your dresses and suits crumpled.

🙏 You’ve chosen your wedding location for a reason, so immerse yourself in the same surroundings from the get go. Ultimate win for your photo/video coverage so everything is cohesive and ties together nicely visually.

🙏 Those reminiscent vibes of getting ready in your childhood room will still be with you wherever you spend your wedding morning. Surround yourself with the people who matter most to you - those good memories will come flooding back.

One of the aspects which I love about my job is that moment when we start chatting about your celebration, plans and vision for your wedding day.⁣

It's super important to me to get to know my couples, and make friends with them from the get go. We're going to be spending a lot of time together in the lead up and on the actual wedding day - so it's pretty imperative we get on. ⁣
⁣
At a wedding fair / expo, you'd usually find me with some sort of sweet in one hand (think: donuts or sneaking lollies from the vendors around me) - chatting excitedly with couples who are interested in wedding films. We laugh, joke around, they bring me more sweets.⁣

As a videographer I have sat through 1000’s of hours of speeches in the past 15+ years.

One thing I can tell you. Pulling a speech from Google, or now AI doesn’t make for a good speech. Here are my 3 tips for great speech writing…

🔥 It’s not a roast, include one funny story, then move on.

🎤 Chat about your wishes for the couple and what they mean to you

🥱 No-one cares about that time you grazed your knee in the second grade or fell off a pony.

Be sure to honour the person you love without including their life story, keep things short and sweet, and make sure you speak about both partners, after all it is both of their special days.

It’s go time!

I really value every one of the couples who entrust me to capture their special day - and I genuinely want to ensure each and every wedding we are part of runs as smoothly as possible (for all) and have all the ingredients to curate one heck of a wedding film.

This all stems from our pre meeting. The timeline catch up. Where we go through your day, brainstorm what’s really important for you construct a timeline which will do wonders for your wedding mindset (yep - videographer here who will sort out your wedding timeline💥)

These pre meets are really integral so we can hash out what’s important from a video perspective and build out a timeline so we can document all those moments that are important to you.

We’ll also talk about:

⏰ The three reasons which will delay your ceremony from starting on time and how to avoid them

🔊 Why it’s important that your Celebrant (and MC/DJ) has a stellar P.A system - this will make or break your wedding film.

🎤 Having a professional MC over getting cousin Jim to take the reins.

🗣️ When is the best time for speeches (and how many) so it doesn’t happen during golden hour and you miss the best light of the day.

With 16 years of experience in this industry, I’ll happily share the gold nuggets and drop the truth bombs all for your benefit so your day will be as mint as ever.

Normally we do these pre meets about 6-8 weeks prior (yep I’m all for being super organised) - in person at Ringwood or via the interwebs for the tech savvy - always super cruisy and so worth the time.

It finally happened yesterday, after many many many months of planning and preparations - Georgia + Cam had the best day imaginable and it was perfection ❤️ Truth be told, I’ve personally been looking forward to this wedding since they first locked me in back in Jan 2023. Every interaction with both of them has been the greatest joy, filled with spontaneous gifts of banana big m’s and sweats.
