ARIA Award winners Collard Greens and Gravy have been forerunners of the Australian blues and roots scene since the mid 90’s. The band traveled to Memphis Tennessee for the International Blues Challenge and took second place, and have won countless local and Australian awards. In November 2023 Ian Collard was inducted into the prestigious Blues Music Victoria Hall of Fame. The line up features Ian Collard on vocals and harmonica, Benny Peters on guitar, Dale Lindrea on bass and Liam O’Leary on drums. Like a night in the North Mississippi hill country, it doesn’t get any better!

THIS SUNDAY AT STINGO BLUES
Kevin has been a part of the Melbourne music scene since the 70‟s, both in notable bands and writing jingles for 3XY and Fox FM radio. Kevin started playing guitar when he was 9 years old, and had his first band with his brother at the age of 12, scoring regular gigs
with the local footy club soon after. Kevin‟s biggest audience was at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl to around 100,000 people during the Mushroom Evolution Concert (over 2 days).
Kevin has played with many bands over the course of his career, and at one stage Kevin was even supporting the late, great, Billy Thorpe. Kevin‟s guitar playing ability is second to none and is backed up by his fantastic song writing and vocals. Prior to the Kevin Buckingham Band, some of the bands Kevin has been with include Mammoth, Dave and the Derros, Carson Taylor Band and The Blues Dukes. Get to the Stingo for this one punters!

Brett's musical journey is extraordinary from small Texas desert town to New York’s indie music scene to blues/roots in Melbourne Australia. The playing rips up his slide guitar - it's bluesy, raw with attitude! He has shared the stage with or supported prominent Aussie artists Ian Moss, Tex Perkins, The Pierce Brothers, H***y Hicks, Minnie Marks, et al., and has been a standout at the Nukara Music Festival and Blues at Bridgetown. This week Brett is supported by the resident Blow Out band and will be something! Be there!

UPDATE THIS SUNDAY! Dr Ric has the bug, so Tanya Lee Davies has stepped in at short notice!

TANYA-LEE DAVIES fell in-love with American R&B and blues musicians as a teenager. She first learned about Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee, Howling Wolf and Ray Charles from listening to British bands covering these artists, and was further floored when she discovered the female R&B, country/gospel singers, and so began a deep research and life long passionate love of blues related sounds.

A band had to be formed to explore this feverish curiosity. Enter The Tanya-Lee Tones, the first of many combos designed to satisfy her hungry soul. The songs of Irma Thomas, Betty Everett, Ruth Brown and unsung heroine Priscilla Bowman all featured and this was the beginning of an unholy love affair with an ungodly music.

Over the years her eclectic repertoire led to many shows; from bar rooms to festival stages, television and radio stations in Australia and the US. Considered one of the most authentic voices of this music, TLD’s style and repertoire stretches far and wide and brings it all together in songs originating in Chicago, New Orleans, Memphis to Muscle Shoals.
