About this role:
The role "Point of View Cafe" is located at our Lilydale Campus.

You will be responsible for assisting in all areas of front of house customer service including but not limited to:
• Serving customers and cash handling
• Basic food preparation and kitchen hand
• Cleaning duties as required and designated by the site manager
• Prepare Expresso-based coffee beverages
• Assist in stock control

To be considered for the role, we are looking for the following:
• Experience working in a retail catering environment attending to day to day operations
• Barista experience and ability to prepare a range of espresso coffee and other beverages
• Cash handling skills, with experience in float reconciliation and EFTPOS facilities
• Available at a mininum of 3 days per week

You will need to provide the following:
• A current National Police Records Check
• Employee category Working with Children Check
• Evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia
• Certified copies of your qualifications

About the role:

The Head Chef is responsible for managing the daily operations of the kitchen, including kitchen management, menu development and maintaining cost control. The Head Chef will supervise kitchen staff to ensure an efficient, effective and empowered team by leading, inspiring and motivating the kitchen team to achieve high quality food and delivering an excellent customer service experience.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications

Qualified Chef or Certificate in Commercial Cookery and/or Diploma in Hospitality is essential
Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is essential
First Aid Certificate is desirable
Expertise Requirements

Industry Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Chef, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity or an equivalent combination of education and culinary/kitchen operations.
Interpersonal skills: Experience in dealing confidently and courteously with people at all levels, and a commitment to providing a high level of customer care.
Organising & Planning: Working collaboratively to achieve team goals, including good organisational skills, flexibility during peak periods, and being able to rapidly change priorities as needed.
You will need to provide or be willing to obtain a current National Police Records Check, a Working with Children Check, evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia, and certified copies of your qualifications.

In accordance with the recent public health announcements and the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, all appointments to Box Hill Institute will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination Status prior to commencing employment.

With nine rooms to choose from and a large exhibition space, whether your meeting is for 10 or a conference for 200 we can arrange our rooms to ensure your meeting, conference or event is a standout success.

Located just 50 minutes from Melbourne, the Lilydale Lakeside Conference and Events Centre creates a unique event expe-rience, nestled amongst the lavish grounds of the lakeside precinct where students, corporates and community come to-gether. Our convenient location provides public transport options right to the door and with the views of the valley and beyond. In addition, we offer free onsite parking with approximately 500 car spaces, complimentary Wi-Fi access to all del-egates, have wheelchair accessibility and 24 hour onsite security. ur facilities include two large auditoriums seating up to 180 people and all of our rooms are equipped with AV systems that can host wireless connections and webinars.

Overlooking expansive manicure lawns and garden areas, the ground floor Atrium is also a popular choice for large trade shows and exhibitions and leads through to the Point of View Café.

Within our vast grounds, the Lakeside Villas are the onsite accommodation with 64 private queen size bedrooms in an apartment style setting, each with their own ensuite and a share living room and kitchenette. The accommodation has di-rect access to the 2.5km walking trail around Lilydale Lake.
