Please note there are no dogs allowed at this event. The Council won’t allow the club to open the overflow car park for this event. We have LIMITED PARKING spaces on the day, so we are asking resident members to walk down if they are able to so.

Today marks 10 years since my first DJ gig back in 2012.

10 years working as a DJ for private and club events all over Melbourne. 10 years of lugging equipment around, 10 years of curating playlists, and 10 years of making people dance.
This is such a huge milestone for me - I can’t believe how quickly it’s come around.

I still remember my first gig like it was yesterday: a house party for Josh’s 16th. I rocked up with my 8” studio monitors and a DJ controller ready to go, and I quickly realised two things:

1) I love doing this.
2) I need some better equipment.

So I made a commitment and invested some savings into some gear. Slowly, more of my friends had birthday parties and were kind enough to trust me with the tunes. My dad would be my own private driver to and from each party in exchange for a clean car the next morning.

Before I knew it, word of mouth and networking did it’s thing, and I took every opportunity that came my way. I sacrificed almost all of my social life and dedicated so much time to make this dream a reality. 10 years later though, I’m booked out 2-3 months in advance. People are trusting me with their weddings, engagements, and corporate events. It was worth it.

I’ve kept a log of every event I was hired to work on, and as of today, I’ve completed 365 events since the 12th of May 2012. If I were to talk to myself 10 years ago, I wouldn’t have believed that was possible - especially amongst a global health pandemic.

I really want to thank mum and dad - my biggest supporters from the beginning. You believed in me and gave me the tools to succeed. You instilled a work ethic in me that I am so thankful for, so thank you for everything.

Thanks to all my mates through the years as well. For every night out I bailed on, for every social event I had to give up for a gig - thanks for understanding. I’m forever thankful.

This isn’t a ‘hanging up the headphones’ post. I’m hungrier than ever! Here’s to another 10 years! 🎉

My lighting rig can be customised to cater for photosensitive people who are sensitive to flashing lights. This wash effect still creates a brilliant atmosphere without the risk.

I make a point to ask before every client if any of the guests present could be at risk - and for Jessica & James’ wedding this weekend, this was the case.

I think it still looks pretty great!

What a wild year 2021 was! While it was one of the most difficult years for all of us, it also happened to be the busiest year I’ve ever had - despite lockdowns and venue capacity limits. I was so excited to learn that I was able to take on a total of 82 events this year!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much to every client, venue and company that has entrusted me to make their night one to remember! I absolutely love what I do, and to be able to be doing it on this kind of scale now, I can safely say this is my childhood dream coming true. To be able to call this a job - it’s finally becoming a reality!

I can’t wait to see what 2022 will bring!

Stay safe over New Years, party hard and responsibly, and I’ll see you next year!

I think it’s really important to look back on your journey to see how far you’ve come. This reflection, coupled with the current lockdown in Victoria has really emphasised how much I really miss playing music! Can’t wait to be back at it soon!
