Happy Birthday to our Board Chair, Frankie J!

Happy Birthday today to singer, actor and tv personality Frankie J. Holden, who was born Peter Brian on this day in 1952 (December 18)

F.J. Holden was an Aussie favourite….

A former chartered accountant, in the 1970s he fronted Oz rock 50s revival band Ol' 55, which had the #3 LP “Take it Greasy”, and hit singles like “On the Prowl” and “Looking for an Echo”.

As an actor he appeared on tv shows like “Prisoner”, “Round the Twist”, “The Flying Doctors”, “A Country Practice”, “Underbelly”, and “A Place to Call Home” among others.

Reflecting on his career, Frankie J.Holden said, “My career [has been] quite diverse.
I’ve been game enough to say, ‘Host a travel show? Yep, I’ll do that. Host a Tonight Show? I’ll have a crack. Heavy drama? Yep. Light comedy? No problem. Popular stuff? I’ll do that, too.’
I’m a versatile performer……..I look back on my career, which has all been an accident, and it’s amazing it has lasted this long.”
