2024 Invitational and Open competitions at the World BBQ Championships done and dusted. You were wet, you were muddy, but what a weekend. We didn’t manage to walk away with what we hoped in competition, with our best being a 4th in open pork, and some disappointment in what was better than previous perfect score brisket scoring into the 20s here (Coast N Smoke TRUB is still the best brisket rub in Australia period). However against 44 of the best teams in Australia plus a few internationals, we finished 15th overall.
Day 2 we entered a platter into the PRO Series event for caterers and businesses, and managed to walk away with a second place. For 2 guys who run Smokin Swine BBQ part time on top of demanding full time jobs, after 12 months in operation and no prior food experience before we started 2 years ago, this was huge for us.
Thank you so much to everyone who support us in BBQ, all very kind people who back us to succeed and a big reason behind why we have climbed to where we are today in 2 short years. And a huge thanks to Full Throttle BBQ and towing for an epic weekend, loved the tractor ride in reverse at 8pm with a Ute and caravan
