The loss of a pet can be just as hard as the loss of a person.
Today, I performed a ceremony for the burial of a young boys favourite rabbit, Little Scruff.
While he was devastated, I watched him lovingly pick a handful of dandelions to be placed with his Little Scruff.
We gently placed his friend in the prepared grave, he then put his thoughtfully picked dandelions in. We gave thanks that Little Scruff had given him cuteness, smiles, love and fluffiness.
While he didn’t want to stay as the grave was filled in, he walked away sad but content. He was part of the process and got to say his thanks in the form of picking and placing flowers.
